Abstract:Microbubble with diameter of less than 50 μm shows great difference in behavior and property compared with traditional bubble.As a result,some potential advantages of microbubble in environmental pollution control have received more and more attention recently.Then different microbubble generation methods and their principles were introduced.Microbubbles and their application fields produced by different methods were also compared.The significant effects of surfactants on microbubble generation were analyzed.At the same time,the difference between microbubble and traditional bubble in behavior and property,such as mass transfer enhancement and interfacial properties,as well as the reasons,was discussed.In addition,the applications of microbubble in ozonation mass transfer enhancement and environmental pollution remediation were summarized.Finally,the limitation at present and the main directions of research and development of microbubble technology in the future were pointed out.
