Risk Management Strategy of a Burgeoning Property Insurance Company Based on Power Grid Risk Characteristics

Within the risk management framework, the risks involved in the process of core value creation by power grid companies can be classified into hazardous risks and financial strategic risks. The power grid risks, which feature linked transmission and endogeneity, demand corresponding measures of risk management through insurances for power grid companies. Therefore, property insurance companies shall be able to reduce risk transmission and risk clustering through the establishment of the proper risk management framework to control internal and external value links. Based upon the characteristics of power grids and taking a certain property insurance company as an example, the paper analyzes the risk management system of the company and puts forward some specific measures for risk management.
