| Abstract: | Because in recent years the PTA method is gradually replacing DMT method in the production of PET, the demand for PTA is increased quickly. Many overseas large companies propose plans one af-ter another to rebuild, expand and construct PTA plant in China. At present the total PTA produc-tion capacity of our country is 1,511kt/a and will be at least 1,980kt/a in the year of 2000. At that time, the domestic production amount of PTA will be unsufficient to demand. The PTA price at home has been going to low step by step since 1997, and will rebound in 1999 according to the estimation. |
