Redesigning the Supply Chain Based on Reengineering, Outsourcing and Relational Capabilities

In order to achieve competitive advantage of supply chain network,the author put forward a framework to redesign the supply chain through process reengineering and integration,outsourcing,and creation of relational capabilities.The developing of relational capabilities is the key point of supply chain redesign.During the redesign of the supply chain,we should pay attention to the following important aspects: determining outsourcing activities through internal analysis and relational analysis,attaching importance to process integration,measuring the developing of relational capabilities.In supply chain network,relational capabilities could be developed along different routes according to focal company's level of competence in performing activities as well as strategic contribution of activities to competitive advantage.Consolidated relational capabilities can become sources of the creation and strengthening of internal capabilities,and finally improve the competitive advantage of supply chain network through strengthening internal competitive advantage and associative advantage.
