In 2019,the operating performance of major IOCs shifted from up to down despite the steady growth of oil and gas production since there are economic downturn and the decline in international oil and gas prices and refinery utilization rate and oil product sales volume both declined.Major IOCs have taken the initiatives to adjust their development strategies in light of current situation including taking increased reserves and productions to stabilize revenue,continuously optimizing the layout of the industrial chain in areas with low-cost resources and high demand growth,enhancing value-creating ability along the whole industry chain and transforming to low-carbon,clean and digital integrated energy companies via improving the concentration of oversea assets,optimizing the allocation and combination of resources,obtaining lower-cost resources,and actively embracing digitalization and smart technologies,all of which provide new ideas and opportunities for Chinese oil companies to expand business areas,achieve energy transformation,and enhance profitability.
