Wolfgang Krull's mathematical life

Wolfgang Krull is one of the famous German mathematicians in the 20th century. This paper studies and analyzes Krull''s life, achievements and influence through reading his original papers and related literatures. The results show that he made great achievements in the ideal theory and valuation theory, which laid the foundation for some branches of modern mathematics, such as algebraic geometry and model theory. He was an outstanding mathematical educator and had trained many excellent doctoral students with a balanced educational method. He held mathematical aesthetics in high regard and tried to present his results as clearly as possible.
