China's Population Carrying Capacity: A Literature Review

This paper reviews the studies of China's population carrying capacity done by the Chinese scholars with respect to the significance, concept, methodology, and the estimates of China's population carrying capacity, and the issues to be further explored. The scientific study of the population carrying capacity becomes extremely complex and difficult to the extent that it depends on the processes to be established by the social and natural sciences as well as the choices to be made by the successive generations.
