The equipment manufacturing industry has historically been the main pillar of economic development, especially since the reform and opening up. Shaanxi Province has accelerated the research and development of the core technology, sped up the technological transformation and structural adjustment, and has developed a large number of superior products and key technologies, basically formed a manufacturing industry system which represented the construction machinery, electrical equipment, aircraft manufacturing and heavy-duty automotive equipment, which enable Guanzhong area to become one of China＇s four major equipment- manufacturing bases. In today＇s economic activities in Shaanxi Province, the equipment manufacturing industry should be treated as the well-deserved core industry. Therefore, considering the strengths and its weaknesses, opportunities and threats of equipment manufacturing industry of Guanzhong area from a point of strategic development , and clarifying its strategic development ideas has important and strategic significance for the sustainability development of equipment manufacturing industry in Guanzhong area and rapid economic development in Shaanxi Province.
