《时间机器》中的反技术理性思想

Anti-Technocracy in the Time Machine

In this science fiction,Wells exerts his imagination to a full and through the fantastic story reflects and foresees the crises and alienation of contemporary society,especially those brought about by the development of science and technology in capitalist society.The common concern and critical spirit between Wells's science fiction and the Frankfurt School theorists' critical theory lead me to analyze the theme of this science fiction in the light of critical theorists Marcuse and others' critique of technocracy.The novel shows the negative effects of the improper use of science(technocracy) on human beings from the following four aspects: loss of human nature,split of human race,physical decline,and mental decadence.The analysis aims to deepen our understanding of the foresighted theme of the work concerning the prospect of human civilization.
