The Development of Chaos Theory--Research Trend of Literary Criticism in 21# Century

The chaos theory, as a new perspective of literary criticism in the 21st century, has blurred up the separation of natural science and other sciences like humanities and broken through the deadlock of limited linear thinking, which will promote the development of literature and its criticism. The paper has recalled the development of chaos theory research in literary criticisms both at home and abroad to the effect that the publications at home have lagged far behind those abroad but attentions wherein have been somewhat increased. When summing up the key-point of the research, we find that the discontinuity, mobility and tolerance of the chaos has provided an integrated insurance for it to participate in literary criticism, and that the co-existent difference and unlimited possibilities allowed hereby may bring about far-reaching effect upon literary criticism.
