| Abstract: | This article deals with the appreciation and translation of Meng Haoran's quatrain" Spring Dawn" . According to the author in translating classic Chinese poetry, we had better retain the style in the rendition,such as its terseness and brevity. The author quotes four English renditions of the short poem by Meng Haoran, makes some brief tentative comments on them,and states her views on the appreciation and translation of this poem and of classic Chinese poems in general. |
