Research on the Clearing System in the Evolution of Modern China

In modern China,native banks,foreign banks and Chinese banks all established their distinctive clearing system,along with their developments.Moreover,accompanying the change of power among the three financial groups,clearing system in modern China developed from the Hui-Hua system of native banks to the clearing system of Chinese banks,and then to the unified clearing system lead by the Central Bank of China.This process reflected the developmental features: from tradition to modern,from being scattered to being centralized.The evolution of clearing system is a hallmark of the institutionalization and modernization of Chinese finance.It played an important and distinctive role in propelling the development of modern Chinese finance.
