| Abstract: | Urban spatial structure theories indicate that urban land use and transportation are closely interacted.Transportation cost and housing cost induced by residential location choice are highly correlated.Therefore,the traditional housing affordability indicators cannot sufficiently reveal the location-specific cost burden for households.This paper designs a new affordability index for transportation and housing,and estimates this index for 64 zones in Beijing.The policy implications of this new index are also... |
