University counselor are along with all the stages of students life, they are the backbone of the ideological work in colleges and universities and the mentor and guide for the healthy growth of college students. By discussing the characteristics of serious differentiation of students＇ personal development, obvious differences of specialty development and psychological vulnerability of junior students, this paper points out that junior counselors should be dedicated, care for students, be disciplined, keep a positive attitude, and change with the times and develop students＇ core values in order to better carry out the student work and promote students＇ healthy growth.
