Research Progress on Adsorption Properties of Chitosan for Heavy Metals in Water

Abstract:In order to effectively treat heavy metal pollution in water and improve the efficiency of chitosan utilization in shrimp head and shell, this paper summarized the chemical degradation method, microbial culture method, enzymatic digestion method and microwave technology method for extracting chitosan, analyzed the adsorption principle of chitosan,optimal adsorption conditions and advantages of chitosan composites, found that the chemical degradation method is the commonly used method for chitosan extraction, the pH value of the solution, reaction temperature, the pH value of the solution, the reaction temperature, the amount of adsorbent and the type of chitosan composite all affect the adsorption performance of chitosan on heavy metals in water, providing reference for future research and application of chitosan.
