In August 2013, the US Dollar index went down first and went up on the whole, the EUR/USD exchange rate went up first and went down on the whole, the GBP/USD exchange rate went up on the whole and the USD/JPY exchange rate showed a V-shaped trend; the short-term USD Libor went down, the short-term EUR Libor and GBP Libor went up, and the short-term JPY Libor remained unchanged; the US, German and UK mid- and long-term T-bond yields went up sharply, while the Japan mid-and long-term T-bond yields went down; and the major stock indexes dropped sharply.
