As China's economy gradually transforms,all players'target functions and restrict conditions are being modified,while the government endeavors to strike a balance between financial resources integration,financial risk control and market competition introduction. Under the circumstances,Chinese state-owned banks are also reshaping themselves. With the end of the transitional period after WTO accession,China's financial sector is fully opened. Against this background,what state-owned banks should strive for in their future reform is to push ahead the ongoing reform and stay competitive in global financial market as China begins to compete worldwide. As for the direction of the reform,China should develop and strengthen financial functions of state-owned banks.
