| Abstract: | Weather derivatives are new products of agricultural insurance, which utilizes the principle of financial instruments for risk management of natural disasters and provides agricultural workers with new means of risk transfer. Introduction of weather derivatives may help insurance companies and reinsurance companies enhance risk-diversifying ability and improve management of natural risks in agriculture. This paper gives an updates of global development of weather derivatives and makes relevant suggestion. |
