A Perspective into the Deepgoing Cause Restricting the Performance of China's Hospitality Industry in the Transitional Period

China's hospitality industry is relatively poor in terms of its performance. This paper tries to make an in-depth analysis from the dual perspective of property right structure and market structure. It points out that China's hospitality industry is a competitive industry with state-owned hotels as its guiding role. The guiding of state-owned hotels and the irreconcilability of competitive industry will inevitably lead to the low performance of China's hotels. Therefore, the primary problem to improve the present situation is to reform the property. The state-owned hotels should quit from the market rather than adopt scale and institutional operation.
