Summary on Birdwatching Tourism Study Both at Home and Abroad

Birdwatching tour is the most important form of ecotourism.Overall,their common characteristics are relatively high income,highly educated tourists and having passion for protection of nature.Birdwatching tourists have become ideal ecotourists who protect environment in nature preserves and help develop economy.Birdwatching tour has aroused great concern from academic circles for its economic,social and environmental benefits.The U.S.government has listed it as an object of survey by national leisure industry.Huge economic benefits have been obtained from birdwatching tourism in African and Southeasten Asian countries.The paper intends to present current situation about the behavior of China's birdwatching tourists by introducing the concept of birdwatching tourism,theory of involved disciplines,study approach and successful cases and their relation with environmental protection.Some helpful suggestions are provided for relevant departments such as tourism management bureau,local community,travel service and tourists.
