Measuring Attitudes Towards Inequality

Individuals' attitudes to inequality aversion are measured using survey data, based on the leaky-bucket experiment, for several groups of students in Australia and Israel. Three forms of social welfare function are estimated. It is found that measures of inequality aversion can be obtained with some precision and that these estimates are substantially lower than the values typically used by those measuring inequality and examining optimal tax structures. Furthermore, a welfare function based on the Gini inequality measure is generally found to give a better fit than forms based on constant relative or constant absolute inequality aversion.

On Measuring Literacy

This paper presents a new approach to evaluating the aggregate literacy level in a country or region. The resulting 'effective literacy' measure takes into account the intrahousehold externality arising from the presence of a literate member. A simple and natural axiomatic characterisation is provided along with an empirical illustration using Indian data.

研究国家经济安全风险是国家战略需要,度量风险可为风险决策和防范提供可靠数据,但现有研究,还缺乏一套行之有效或付诸实践的国家经济安全风险度量方法。鉴于此,在前人研究的基础上,建立了国家经济安全风险度量指标体系,并用故障树和信息熵方法度量国家经济安全风险。利用故障树方法,合理地分解了国家经济安全所涉及的领域,利用信息熵方法,解决了风险度量中各个部分权重分配问题。并通过1985~2011年国家外债统计年鉴数据实证分析了该方法的合理性和有效性。     

对用综合指标来衡量经济发展的思考

Like the founders of the subject, we believe, and our reviewers seem to agree, that structural econometrics has the potential to enable us to develop serious working models of how different economies actually operate, and also to tell us something about the changing patterns of their growth and transformation. But both we and our reviewers agree that there is a great deal wrong with the way econometrics is practiced today.     

Measuring Risk Attitudes in a Natural Experiment: Data from the Television Game Show Lingo

We use data from a television game show involving elementary lotteries as a natural experiment to measure risk attitudes. Unique features of our data set are the substantial monetary stakes and the large sample size. CRRA and CARA utility specifications perform approximately equally well. We find robust evidence of substantial risk aversion. Extensions of the basic model, which allow for a separate utility flow purely from playing the game or for decisions based on decision weights instead of actual probabilities, raise the estimated degree of risk aversion.

经济增长的收敛性是近年来经济学界研究的热点,而分析方法的选择对课题的研究至关重要。将经济增长收敛的分析方法归结为β收敛、σ收敛和随机收敛三类,在阐述各种分析方法的同时,对其存在的优点和缺陷进行了评价,同时,对相关的实证研究文献进行了梳理和总结。认为,在提高数据的质量和合理地选择样本期的前提下,只有采取多种分析方法相结合的办法,才能够得出有关地区经济增长收敛性的科学结论。     

上海城乡经济多样化测度方法及其演变特征

以上海市为例,从作物多样化、产业发展多样化、土地利用结构多样化、城市经济功能多样化等视角,提出了相应的定量测度方法并展开实证分析。研究结果表明:11950年以来,尽管大多数区县的作物多样化程度趋于下降态势,但上海郊区的作物多样化程度依然较高;近郊区的作物多样化程度的下降幅度大于远郊区,且两者的作物多样化程度在1990年前后发生了明显改变。2改革开放以来,上海农业发展日益趋于多样化;上海工业则经历了"两升两降"的结构调整和优化过程,优势工业行业的集中化和专业化与其它工业行业的分散化和多样化交替演进;上海服务业的多样化程度总体上呈现在波动中上升的态势。31996年以来,上海土地利用结构多样化指数基本呈现上升趋势,且土地利用结构的多样化程度总体较高。41980年以来,上海城市经济功能多样化态势日益明显,产业结构升级与就业结构多样化互动发展。     

论商誉的性质及其定价机制

商誉的本质是人力资源。外购商誉的定价机制是直接定价,是在企业并购过程中,购买方与被购买方讨价还价的结果,是一种博弈结果,具有确定性。自创商誉的定价机制是间接定价,是一种博弈过程,是企业内部人力资本所有者与非人力资本所有者之间的动态博弈,具有高度的不确定性。因此,自创商誉不可能被纳入现行的财务会计核算体系之内。     

On the Irrelevance of Risk Attitudes in Repeated Two-Outcome Games

We study equilibrium and maximin play in supergames consisting of the sequential play of a finite collection of stage games, where each stage game has two outcomes for each player. We show that for two-player supergames in which each stage game is strictly competitive, in any Nash equilibrium of the supergame, play at each stage is a Nash equilibrium of the stage game provided preferences over certain supergame outcomes satisfy a natural monotonicity condition. In particular, equilibrium play does not depend on risk attitudes. We establish an invariance result for games with more than two players when the solution concept is subgame perfection. 本从生产、流通、分配、消费几个方面论述了韩愈的经济思想：韩愈反对官府干扰百姓的经济活动，要求国家帮助贫穷农民发展生产；他反对封建国家搞的具有垄断性质的专营制度，主张保护私商利益，依靠私人商业搞活流通；他反对横征暴敛，要求赋税的征收应该根据百姓的负担能力。韩愈经济思想中的这些内容，现在仍然有借鉴意义。
