先对跨国公司非正常撤资进行概述,从介绍其内涵和分析正常撤资和非正常撤资的区别入手,通过一些撤资数据对跨国公司在华非正常撤资的特征进行分析。然后深入剖析跨国公司在华非正常撤资的原因,其中包括外部环境因素和内部自身因素。结合事例阐明了跨国公司非正常撤资对中国经济、政治会造成重大影响,而且主要是负面影响。最后提出相应的对策建议。  相似文献

东道国优惠政策的变化对跨国公司的投资行为产生影响,东道国以外国家的竞争性FD I政策也会对跨国公司的行为产生影响,同时投资环境变化对跨国公司的撤资决定产生影响。所以,改善投资政策环境,并对投资政策环境进行评估,建立跨国公司撤资的预警和防范机制,充分发挥其撤资监控功能,对于防范和干预撤资,减少撤资对东道国经济、社会的消极影响,促使东道国更有效地利用外资具有十分重要的意义。  相似文献

随着跨国公司不断地在全球范围内进行直接投资和调整布局,由此引发的撤资行为逐渐受到一定的关注。尽管现有研究成果十分丰富,但作为国际商务活动的跨国公司撤资行为仍然没有得到应有重视和充分解释。本文从跨国公司撤资的含义与类型、动机与原因、影响与对策等方面对国内外现有研究进行梳理,评述了相关研究的进展与不足,并提出未来应该从微观层面对撤资行为进行多学科交叉研究,构建完整的跨国公司撤资理论体系。  相似文献

Despite garnering an increasing amount of scholarly attention in the past three decades, the literature on foreign divestment is characterised by inconsistent theoretical arguments and mixed findings. In the present paper we review 53 articles on foreign divestment using the content analysis technique. Our aim is to compare and consolidate the main findings of the 53 articles, and provide suggestions for future research. The review suggests that there are several overlapping arguments provided by different theoretical frameworks. We also observed a great degree of discrepancy in the empirical design, particularly concerning the operationalisation of variables, sample sizes, and sample location. Moreover, we identified that there is a dearth of literature on exit modes, exit barriers, and post-divestment strategies. We conclude by providing recommendations and proposing a framework for future research.  相似文献

SUMMARY

Customer lifetime value (CLV) models are designed to identify high-value customers to be retained. By implication, the remaining customers must be divested. This aspect of CLV management, customer divestment, has not been addressed in research. In this paper we describe the process of customer divestment, report a framework enabling firms to implement customer divestment (Mittal, Sarkees, and Murshed, 2006), and identify key issues associated with the customer divestment process. In doing so, we formulate some key research questions and an agenda for future research.  相似文献

In this study, we examine the impact of cross-national distance on the divestment of foreign affiliates. On the basis of the nine dimensions of cross-national distance (Berry et al. 2010. “An Institutional Approach to Cross-National Distance.” Journal of International Business Studies 41 (9): 1460-1480), we empirically examine the impact of each measure of distance on the divestment of affiliates. Using a data set of 1697 multinational corporations (MNCs) headquartered in Korea and their 2435 affiliates in 67 host countries from 2000 to 2010, we find that distance created by economic, financial, political, administrative, cultural, demographic, knowledge and global connectedness leads to the divestment of foreign affiliates. We also find that the positive relationship between cross-national distance and affiliate divestment is likely to become stronger when an MNC enters the host country through a joint venture and weaker for affiliates with greater experience in the host country.  相似文献

The paper focuses on both the economic and noneconomic multilateral relationships inside and outside the TNCs’ own business networks in the processes of the firms’ internalization on the example of foreign direct investment and divestment in breweries in the UK and Poland. The mode of TNCs’ entry in breweries in the mature economy of the UK and transformation economy in Poland is less country specific and more associated with the international environment of network relationships. Much of the existing literature on foreign ethical divestment has been developed in isolation and scattered across multiple disciplines. This article reviews the existing literature on foreign ethical divestment to extract emerging themes and outline new directions for future research. Our review uncovered that foreign ethical divestment decisions can be attributed to macro‐, firm‐, and individual‐level factors. We therefore develop an integrated model to link the dynamics of ethical foreign divestment. Foreign divestment research has focused on identifying divestment drivers but has only rarely investigated the long-term divestment behavior of companies. This study uses longitudinal case studies to explore the foreign market exit behavior of all seven of the ten largest store-based retailers in the world that had exited any foreign market between 2005 and 2020. It considers the three main theoretical perspectives in the field of strategic management, i.e., the industry-based, the resource-based, and the institution-based view. We find that retail market exits are often connected actions within certain epochs. The resource-based view seems the most appropriate strategic view to explain retailers’ long-term market exit behavior because their exits are often triggered by their idiosyncratic resources. However, we find some common patterns across the retailers’ market exit behavior that show the relevance of the industry-based and the institution-based view. Furthermore, the study detects the recently increasing phenomenon of partial exits which can be explained by the real options theory.  相似文献

This article considers the international retailing operation of Liberty of London in Paris between 1889 and 1932. Using data from the company archive, the article challenges assumptions regarding the nature and role of early retail activity in the internationalisation process. Drawing on theoretical frameworks from the marketing and management literature, the article considers Liberty’s Paris operation from entry stage activity in the late 1880s through to the divestment process in the early 1930s. Detailed consideration of this firm shows that the specialist retailer with distinct firm specific assets developed in the domestic market was operating internationally in the late nineteenth century.  相似文献
