Updated estimates of UK GDP from the income side, 1841–1920

This article brings together some of the improvements to GDP estimates from the income side since the publication of Charles Feinstein's 1972 volume National income, expenditure and output of the United Kingdom, 1855–1965. Many of the improvements and refinements were made by Feinstein himself and this paper makes a start in bringing the different elements together, focusing chiefly on reconstructing the income-based estimates for the period 1841–1920. The new data are then used to comment on several features of the late nineteenth-century UK economy, considering both the trend and cyclical path of the economy. The new data, coupled with modern de-trending methods, suggest that there was a long-term slowing of the UK economy from the late nineteenth century, starting from the 1870s. To undertake the trend–cycle decomposition, we employ a wavelets methodology to describe the time–varying features of trends and cycles over this period.     

Analysis on Quantity Characteristics of the Fluctuation of Economic Cycle in Shaanxi Province since Reform and Opening-up

This paper analyzes the quantity characteristics of the fluctuation of economic cycle through GDP growing rate in Shaanxi province since reform and opening-up. The results are that the fluctuation of economic cycle in Shaanxi province keeps in step with the nationwide fluctuation, economic growth is powerful, the stabilization of economic growth and the ability of economic sustainable development are strengthened, but the macroscopic control demands to be steady in the second half of the 1990s and the reform dynamics is not deep enough. Meanwhile, we aim at the economy in current China, which is in a new round of expansion issue of cycle and develops at a stable speed, so the paper suggests that the government should adopt neutral macroscopic economic policies.     

增长质量、阶段特征与经济转型的关联度

基于现阶段我国大力提倡循环经济、绿色经济增长模式背景,通过分解经济增长质量指数的结构,突破以往经济增长质量评价研究建立在传统经济增长模式下的不足,将循环经济、绿色经济思想引入经济增长质量评价研究中,构建经济增长质量指数结构与经济增长模式转型关系图以及能够反映新的经济增长模式的经济增长质量评价指标体系。以1995~2006年为例,测评经济增长质量总指数及其分指数,据此判断我国经济增长质量的状况及增长模式的进程,以期为我国经济增长模式转型研究提供一个实证分析框架。     

21世纪中国经济增长问题的若干思考与建议

一定的经济增长方式直接影响着经济增长的质量、速度及效益,不同的经济增长方式会产生截然不同的经济效果。我国粗放型经济增长方式至今并未实现彻底性转变,高投入、高能耗、低效益的粗放特征仍然十分明显。粗放型经济增长方式不仅降低经济效益,而且危害生态环境,引发资源高耗、能源紧缺、环境污染、生态破坏等一系列问题,这说明我国粗放型经济增长方式已经走到了尽头,转变经济增长方式迫在眉睫。     

经济吸引与空间经济结构——以公主岭市为例

将要素流动与集中的现象考虑至一个统一的框架中，基于引力模型，构建集聚力空间分异——优势区位的理论模型，来解释要素流动与集中在微观、宏观上的空间经济规律。得到微观上城市空间结构变化的规律为：第一阶段为粗放式发展阶段的星状、带状结构，第二阶段为内涵式发展阶段的团块状结构。将公主岭市作为典型案例，采用定性与定量相结合的方法进行分析。结果表明，公主岭市某位置的经济吸引力越大，其区位越优，越能吸引要素的集中，会带来更多的城市空间扩展。将模型进一步应用于宏观上经济带的空间经济结构的形成，发现要素将沿着大城市-交通干道-小城市-支线-小城镇的次序依次集聚，要素集聚的速度和城市规模增长的速度依次递减，最终经济带内的发展差距不断缩小，区域一体化程度不断增强。     

The Base ＆ Model of East Asia Economic Integration

There are three basic models of economic cooperation, i.e. economic globalization, economic regionalization, and economic nationalization. But the standard of economic integration between economics in East Asia is very low. In fact, there are good bases in the aspects of trade and investment, and there will be a new ＂two towers＂ model after the ＂goose flying＂ model.

全球化下日美经济周期不同步的原因探析

20世纪90年代以来，世界经济出现了全球化趋势，在这一趋势下，一国经济的变动，尤其是发达大国的经济变动对其他国家经济的影响会越来越大。全球化暗含的一个结果是世界各国经济周期应该趋于同步，然而，10多年来，日本和美国经济周期出现了明显的不同步现象，这再一次印证了马克思主义政治经济学所表明的资本主义经济展不平衡规律。本文认为制度创新，技术创新和组织创新不同步是全球化趋势下日美经济周期不同步的原因。

经济发展要素对国民经济增长贡献的量化分析——以河南省为例

文章通过修正后的柯布-道格拉斯生产函数,依据1998—2007近十年的河南统计年鉴数据,构建并导出了河南省国民经济增长模型。在此基础上运用现代计量经济方法测算了社会固定资产投资、社会劳动力资源投入以及信息化建设等主要经济发展要素对河南省国民经济增长的贡献,并科学分析了这些要素对河南经济发展的影响。     

美国经济复苏特点、或有困境及其现实因应

本轮危机之后美国经济增速回升幅度相对较小、持续时间短,现阶段经济增速二次回调已见底回升。在经济政策保持相对稳定情况下,美国经济增速将回升并进入适度增长状态,但物价涨幅较高,财政赤字规模也不断扩大。在财政支出紧缩情景下,美国经济总体运行趋势依然平稳,但物价涨幅依然偏高,美国经济仍面临经济低速增长、物价涨幅较高的两难局面。

ABSTRACT

This paper presents a newly constructed database on foreign trade of Sweden–Finland 1738–1805, consisting of all exports and imports that were recorded by the custom houses in this period, and is made available at www.historia.se/Swedish foreign trade 1738_1805.xlsx. The traditional view as presented by Eli Heckscher, who was very critical of the mercantilist policies of the time, was that the overseas trade of Sweden-Finland saw a trend of secular stagnation during the course of the eighteenth century. By contrast, we show that in conjunction with a substantial expansion of the population, total trade nearly increased twofold during the period of study. Despite that, there was a small decrease in the value of exports in relation to GDP, mostly explained by a drop in the relative price of bar iron. The degree of specialisation of Swedish exports saw a declining tendency in this period. While exports from Sweden had a higher degree of specialisation than Finnish exports, imported goods to Finland were more concentrated than Swedish imports. Lastly, the composition of imports did not markedly alter, meaning that a consumer revolution did not take place in either Sweden or Finland.

如何应对我国经济转型的阵痛

2008年，我国经济面，临一系列困难，其中通货膨胀成为经济发展中最值得关注的问题，这与外部环境变化有很大的关系，短期因素起了很大作用，也是经济发展到一定阶段后，传统发展模式导致瓶颈的一种表现，是经济向新型工业化模式转型过程中必须面对的问题。对此，我们不能仅仅从周期角度分析，而应从深层次问题着手，为长远发展扎扎实实地做好基础性工作。
