管理信息化与企业流程再造研究

作为企业改造的方法 ,企业流程再造理论即BPR已引起业界广泛的注意。作为企业运行的手段 ,企业的管理信息化工作越来越受到人们的重视。在深入分析了企业流程再造思想的基础上 ,提出了企业流程再设计的原则 ,分析了管理信息化与企业流程再造二者的关系 ,指出了企业流程再造是管理信息化的基础 ,管理信息化对企业流程再造的支撑作用。     

AN INVESTIGATION OF THE VALUE OF CROSS‐DOCKING FOR SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Cross‐docking is the practice of transferring materials from an incoming shipment directly to an outgoing shipment without storing them at the transfer point. This essentially eliminates the inventory‐holding function of a warehouse and can reduce supply chain costs. We investigate the value of one type of cross‐docking in a variety of supply chain environments.

THE STOCK PRICE REACTION TO SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT ADVERTISEMENTS AND COMPANY VALUE

The research examines the stock price reaction to the announcement of the adoption of supply chain management‐enhancing tools and technologies to determine whether there is a significant response from the capital markets. The results show that the adoption of supply chain management‐enhancement tools appears to be value creating. The strength of the stock price reaction is positively related to the degree of certainty regarding the publication date of the publication.

THE MODIFICATION OF PASINETTI'S DYNAMIC LABOUR THEORY OF VALUE

This paper discusses how much labour is directly or indirectly necessary for present or future consumption of each commodity. Defining a vertically hyper-integrated labour coefficient for every commodity. Pasinetti claims that it represents the labour which is dynamically necessary for a unit consumption of the commodity. However, if technology and annual growth rates of consumption demand are given, vertically hyper-integrated labour coefficients are not determined uniquely. This paper demonstrates this result and formulates the improved vertically hyper-integrated labour coefficients which are determined uniquely and thus readily applicable to both theoretical and empirical study of technical progress in non-proportionally growing economies.     

THE APPLICATION OF EMPIRICAL STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT RESEARCH TO SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Researchers in supply chain management (SCM) have traditionally relied most heavily on the core disciplines of logistics, marketing, and operations; most are less familiar with empirical literature in strategic management. However, with the evolution of logistics into the more interdisciplinary SCM along with increasing attention within strategic management to supply chain issues, recent empirical research in strategy has much to offer. This study reviews and categorizes more than one hundred articles relevant to SCM drawn primarily from top strategic management journals.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT: THE PURSUIT OF A CONSENSUS DEFINITION

As disciplines evolve, it is a normal part of the maturation process to regularly examine the definition of the discipline — i.e., what the discipline is and is not. The opinions of those involved in the discipline are key to this maturation (i.e., definitional) process. Developing a consensus definition of supply chain management is a widely discussed but unresolved challenge. Thus, the current study provides insight into the perceptions of logistics professionals regarding this issue based upon an Internet‐based survey.

This paper outlines the development of local price comparison surveys in the United Kingdom and assesses their efficacy and value to consumers. The economic significance of such price information services is also considered.
