State-level New ＆ Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone： Baoding New ＆ Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone is a state-level new ＆ hi-tech industrial development zone approved by the State Council in Dec. 1992. By the end of 2006, there were 1,986 enterprises registered in the zone, among which were 228 foreign invested enterprises and 166 new ＆ hi-tech enterprises. In 2006, its total output value reached RMB 5 billion yuan, financial revenue stood at RMB 755 million yuan, industrial sales revenue amounted to RMB 21 billion yuan, fixed assets investment totaled RMB 2.05 billion yuan, and infrastructure facilities investment reached RMB 25 million yuan.

The total area of the Zibo New High-tech Industrial Development Zone and the Foreign-oriented Industrial Processing Zone is 77.2 sq km, the joint name being the Zibo New High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
