This paper provides a brief account of the history of ASEAN-India relations and the changes currently taking shape as a result of the Indian economic reforms and the country's look East Policy. The paper then argues that there are opportunities for both sides arising from the likely new growth scenario for India outlined in the paper.

The correspondence between the factors of economic growth described in long-term economic forecasts and long-term forecasting modeling tools, as well as the classical theoretical interpretation of economic growth is analyzed.

本文在珠三角经济一体化趋势不断加强的背景下,从内外部传导渠道的角度探讨了珠三角经济波动的传导机制.实证分析表明珠三角反映外部经济传导渠道的FDI和出口的波动程度明显高于内部传导渠道,且FDI和出口对经济波动产生显著的正向作用,对经济波动起催化剂作用;珠三角从根本上稳定经济需要发挥居民消费的稳定器作用,同时政府支出的导向作用也不容忽视.

Karl Gunnar Persson has written a small book on a large subject — pre-industrial societies and technological progress.¹ For a book on economic history it is unusual, mainly because of the high level of abstraction on which it moves, but also because of some of the conclusions it reaches.

Summary The object of the paper is to present micro and macro accounting as an integrated conceptual body, logically derived from a limited number of basic assumptions. The are applied to an economy with five micro economic units: Households, Industries, Banks, Government and Rest of the World. The basic macro economic statement -to be called the National Transactions Table - is obtained as a systematic organization and consolidation of all the micro statements. The first macro statement derived from the National Transactions Table is the Generalized Equation of Exchange. With this, Fisher's Equation of Exchange is given, first, a logical foundation, second, its correct formulation both for its aggregated and disaggregated forms, and finally, the place that naturally corresponds to it in a social accounting system. Leaving for a moment the logical derivation of the macro accounting statements, some of the properties of the Generalized Equation of Exchange are explored. In particular, the properties of the sectoral velocities of circulation are analized. Returning to the accounting aspects of the study, the Flow of Funds, Input -Output, Income and Product and Savings and Investment statements are derived from the National Transactions Table and some of their properties are explored.The author wishes to express his appreciation to Prof. G. Swedish-American economic relations

Abstract

The book deals with Swedish-American connections at different periods from the time of the westerly excursions of the Vikings to the present. The authors begin by pointing out that the Vikings were the first Europeans to discover North America, although they reached no further than the inhospitable shores of Labrador and Newfoundland; their discovery was, in consequence, of no great significance. The Swedish colony on the Delaware in the 17th century was also a short-lived episode since conditions were not yet favourable for Swedish colonizing activity.

本文通过对新疆经济增长与外贸依存度等变量之间协整关系分析 ,指出了外贸依存度是新疆经济增长的因 ,对外贸易对新疆经济增长的推动作用十分明显。而新疆对中亚五国外贸依存度、外资依存度则不是新疆经济增长的因 ,要将新疆建成我国西部国际商贸中心 ,必须防止通道经济和贸易空洞化 ,必须加大吸引外资的力度。     

基于国际环境经济关系的中国绿色经济发展路径

经济全球化日益加深,亚太地区各国间的经济竞争与合作也不断加强。同时,全球环境日益恶化,环境问题成为影响亚太国际经济关系的重要因素。中国作为最大的发展中国家,从经济发展和生态环境方面都对世界产生举足轻重的影响,同时也受到美日等主要发达国家的国际压力。因此,中国走绿色经济发展之路,对促进本国经济发展与处理国际关系都具有十分重要的意义。     

经济全球化进程中我国政府的经济职能

在经济全球化进程中,每一个国家都是在既定国际关系准则约束下争取自己国家最大利益的“经济人”。政府行政作为“国家的组织活动、,对发展中国家而言,全球化并不意味着政府削弱经济职能,而 相反地强化了政府在经济活动中的地位与作用。正如日本学者正村公安所说：全球化“与其说削弱了经济性国家主权,还不如说是加强了各国政府的责任,即在充分理解本国经济政策的国际影响的基础上,采取适当手段,有效地先例经济性国家主权”。对中国来说,即将“入世”意味着融入全球化浪潮的步伐加快了,因此,改革行政管理体制,强化政府合理的经济职能,提升良性的政府能力,在经济全球化的激烈竞争中就显得尤为必要和紧迫。     

Five recent economic revolutions

In recent years, some changes in economic behavior and institutions are fundamental enough to be called revolutions. Five of these are discussed briefly. They are the increasing financial disintermediation in France, the U.K., and the U.S.; the rise of global firms; the increasing need for international economic regulation; diminishing brand loyalty on the part of consumers, especially in food items; and the growing tendency to admit labor representatives to managerial functions. These changes are described briefly in each case and some of their implications for economics are suggested. Questions about the implications are raised. Women and economic development

This article relates some experiences of local authority interventions in Wolverhampton which have contributed to effective economic development work with women. The intention is to highlight approaches and actions which we believe need to be incorporated into local authority economic strategy in order to address women's needs. We also aim to identify certain limiting factors arising from the national context. The paper is based on work undertaken by the authors whilst working for Wolverhampton Council.
