近几年来,收视率数据在我国电视行业中扮演起了越来越重要的角色,成为业内外人士共同关注的热点话题。2009年年初,曾在中国收视率市场上运作了十余年的AGB Nielsen退出中国市场,其直接后果是让在中国市场上本已占有了80%以上份额的CSM媒介研究某种意义上垄断了中国的收视率调查市场。垄断市场结构的形成,以及国际广告公司WPP对CSM的控股,引发了人们对数据客观性和公正性的关注。本文通过回溯历史.归纳全球收视率调查的商业模式,认为要推动中国收视率调查行业的健康发展,关键问题不在于关注垄断或者外资参股的问题,而在于对收视率调查业务的规范和监督问题.一个由行业各万共同参与和运作的收视平调查监督机制,正是未来中国收视半调查行业健康发展的必须。  相似文献

The marketing and consumer research fields began to flourish in the late 1940s after World War II. Social Research, Inc. was founded in 1946 by members of the University of Chicago's faculty. Students at the University's interdisciplinary Committee on Human Development and the Departments of Sociology, Anthropology, and Psychology worked at Social Research, Inc., pioneering the application of behavioral methods of research to problems of business and other organizations. This paper traces the transmission of knowledge from the academic setting to the business environment. It notes especially the influence of members of the university faculty and their theories of human behavior on the emerging fields devoted to the study of consumption and culture.  相似文献

What is common practice in international business (IB) research methodology? To address this question, we surveyed 1,296 empirical articles published in six leading international business journals from 1992 to 2003. The study uncovers state-of-the-art approaches in research methodologies in IB in terms of five major aspects: data collection methods, sample sources including sampled countries and subjects, sampling methods, sample sizes, and response rates. The results indicate that (1) mail questionnaire surveys dominate empirical research, (2) 60.9% of the studies use a one-country sample (88.9% from western countries), (3) 33.7% of the studies are based upon sample frames provided by third parties, and (4) the median sample size is 180 with an average response rate of 40.1%. Suggestions and recommendations are also provided to improve the methodological rigor of IB research.  相似文献

Knowledge creation processes in British Universities have been affected significantly by formal evaluations of research performance. The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2001 in the UK shows that retail research is based primarily in the business and management subject area and in selected institutions. There is a tension amongst institutional strategies to maximise assessment results and thus income, individual career paths, journal 'ratings' and the direction of research. The emerging focus on a North American model of research knowledge creation raises fundamental concerns covering the philosophy, methodology, techniques and topics of retail research in the UK.  相似文献

Crowdfunding offers a new funding model for research activities at universities. It combines fundraising with public engagement and an entrepreneurial spirit. While universities might be expected to show enthusiasm for the possibilities of crowdfunding, support has not been widespread in Australia. Only a small number of Australian universities have provided active support for crowdfunding of research activities. Interviews with academics and administrators from two Australian universities with a history of providing strong support for research crowdfunding show that clear vision and firm leadership are required to overcome organizational inertia. Universities need to provide space for academics and administrators to innovate, try new approaches, and even fail as they learn whether crowdfunding works for them. Peer support and organized training can help academics as they seek to build an audience via social media engagement. Universities can also provide analysis of campaign progress and, in some cases, funding to support campaigns. The article concludes with best-practice advice for universities that wish to encourage research crowdfunding supported by a framework that describes a continuum of support, ranging from an outright ban to benign neglect to strong support for this new activity.  相似文献

The discipline of logistics is undergoing tremendous change, including shifts in the focus of our associations, as well as in the subject matter, that is deemed important to the academic and professional community. In this article, we seek to evaluate how research in the discipline is also changing, specifically in terms of the degree of collaboration among scholars involved. We draw upon 3,116 articles published from 1987 through 2007 in seven logistics journals. Using the authorship and the citation counts of these articles, we identify several important characteristics of collaboration and offer preliminary empirical insight about the associated trends and impact that collaboration is having within our discipline. This initial assessment provides the potential to spur further interest into the theoretical development and empirical testing on this timely and important topic.  相似文献

The authors investigate the intellectual pillars of service marketing and its evolution through key subareas during 1992-2009 using a citation-based approach. They derive insights for the most promising research directions. The results reveal the dynamic influences of different research topics on service marketing. In a graphical representation, the authors further show that the main topics have changed their research orientations over time. For example, the literature on online service & technology infusion reveals an increasingly operational and customer-focused orientation. A citation-based measure of the significance of research opportunities and a comparison with the topics found in recent literature reviews indicate that research on managing business-to-business services & service infusion, complaint handling & service recovery, and enhancing and managing the service value chain are promising topics. These results assist academics and practitioners by revealing what we know about service research and what we need to know in the future.  相似文献
