Further Promote and Expand sino-African Trade Cooperation——Interview with CCPIT Chairman Wan Jifei

As an important part of the 2^nd Forum of Sino-African Cooperation, the 2^nd Conference of Chinese and African Entrepreneurs, jointly organized by CCPIT （China Council for the Promotion of International Trade） and the Ministry of Commerce was held from November 4 to 5 in Beijing. Premier Wen Jiabao, 27 African presidents and 6 African government leaders attended the conference. Over 1800 Chinese and African representatives from various industries participated in the conference.

On September 10, 2010, General Administration of Customs of the People＇s Republic of China （GAC） released the profile of China foreign trade import and export in August and the first eight months of this year. China＇s foreign trade in the first eight months totaled US$1.88 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 40 percent, according to the GAC. Trade surplus for the first eight months of the year totaled US$103.9 billion, down 14.6 percent from the same period last year.

China appeals WTO ruling on auto parts import measures

The United States has questioned China＇s pork subsidies in a letter posted on the website of the World Trade Organization （WTO）, reflecting new tension between the two trading giants. On November 29, 2006, CCPIT Chairman Wan Jifei and Chairman of ltalian Trade Commission jointly signed the Memorandum of Cooperation. After the signature ceremony, Mr. Ambassador Umberto Vattani, President of Italian Trade Commission （ICE） awarded a gold medal to Mr. Wan Jifei, in order to praise the great contributions he has made in promoting the trade relations between China and Italy. He pointed out that the gold medal was just coined in three pieces and with great significance. Another Step Offshore for the CNY
