一个适合穿越的地方藏村里飘过尼泊尔风

乃村在藏语中的意思是“大山顶上的圣地”，这片山顶圣地，又是自然天成的观景平台，既有雪山冰川、云飞霞光，又有草场湿地、佛塔经幡。站在乃村，可以同时看到中国境内和尼泊尔境内的多座雪山，其清凉舒爽，风景情致，为我所到小村之最……

写满虔诚的经幡，风一吹过，经文就被吟诵了一遍。     

西行阿里：这么近那么远

往这里走，将会走进一片无人区。 你驾车从热闹的拉萨出发，心中无限神往的却是那无人之境。开出拉萨不远，你就看到了一个水葬台。水葬台上挂满经幡，雅鲁藏布江平缓地向前推进着，这个水葬台见证着一个个生命的轮回。你没有停下来看，继续向前走。     

普松雕刻：木板上的传奇

五色经幡出自普松雕版 我们刚推开普松乡曲水村江白老人家的院门，就被一阵狗叫声吓着了，赶紧退出大门。江白的儿子色曲从二楼下来，几声吆喝，黑狗就安静了。走进院子，满地都是草料和牛粪，这是典型的传统藏式民居，一楼关牲畜，二楼住人。

Cruising for parking

Suppose curb parking is free but all the spaces are occupied, and off-street parking is expensive but immediately available. In this case, you can cruise to find a curb space being vacated by a departing motorist, or pay for off-street parking right away. This paper presents a model of how drivers choose whether to cruise or to pay, and it predicts several results: you are more likely to cruise if curb parking is cheap, off-street parking is expensive, fuel is cheap, you want to park for a long time, you are alone in the car, and you place a low value on saving time. The model also predicts that charging the market price for curb parking—at least equal to the price of adjacent off-street parking—will eliminate cruising. Because the government sets curb parking prices, planners and elected officials strongly influence drivers’ decisions to cruise. The failure to charge market rates for curb parking congests traffic, pollutes the air, wastes fuel, and causes accidents. Between 1927 and 2001, studies of cruising in congested downtowns have found that it took between 3.5 and 14 min to find a curb space, and that between 8 and 74 percent of the traffic was cruising for parking.     

达巴士林“莲花之地”的神秘脉络

裸奔阿里

Tourism,Trams and Local Government Policy-making in Christchurch,New Zealand

This paper examines the role of local government and the nature of the policy-making process in urban tourism through a detailed analysis of the development of the Christchurch tourist tramway. The basic issues addressed are why and how a tourist tramway was developed in Christchurch and what was the development and policy process. A detailed chronology of events is established through the analysis of archival material, newspaper accounts and interviews with key personnel. The analysis and interpretation centres on understanding what was driving the tramway development process. Emphasis is given to identifying key factors and events, the tourism arguments used, and the interests of the different parties involved. The process is shown to be ad hoc and incremental, with the development of the tramway being part of broader urban processes and policies. Tourism is frequently used to rationalise other interests, notably a desire amongst enthusiasts to see trams running once more on the city's streets. In many respects, the Christchurch case reflects broader issues elsewhere.     

The spatial configuration of airline networks in Europe

The deregulation of US domestic passenger aviation in 1978 resulted in the reconfiguration of airline networks into radial route systems, spatially concentrated around a small number of central airports or ‘hubs’. This paper investigates whether a similar spatial concentration trend can be observed in the European aviation network after deregulation at the airline network level. Using the network concentration index, it is demonstrated that European ‘flag carriers’ already showed a very high traffic concentration rate at the beginning of deregulation. Between 1990 and 1999, the distribution of European traffic of these carriers remained remarkably stable according to the network concentration index. A spatial concentration trend of European traffic on a small number of hubs can only be observed for some regional airlines.     

错那：雪景中的生命体温

山南“10·26”大雪灾发生后的半个月，我们踏着未融的积雪，走进了山南地区错那县，走进了这个一度被暴雪封锁的“生命禁区”。错那县那依然被白茫茫的冰雪覆盖的大地，在经历了生死洗礼后，焕发出了新的生机。
