HONOR FOR 100 TIMES——The 100th Canton Fair Celebrated

In October, Canton, the capital city of Guangdong Province will celebrate the 100th Chinese Export Commodities Fair(CECF). Canton is also called Spring City or Flower City for its beautiful and warm climate in the whole year and people's nature of loving flowers. In China, Chinese Export Commodities Fair (CECF) is rarely known, but when Canton Fair is mentioned, people always answer: "Yes! I know!". In fact, they are the same.     

The 98th Canton Fair Ended with Ample Fruits

Three countries and areas take a leading role in the transaction. The top three are the European Union（EU）, the Middle East and the USA, the transaction amounts were respectively US$2.32 billion, US$931 billion and US$927 million,     

The 101^st Canton Fair, Import Functions Added, Eyes New Market, New Trade Partners

The 101st Session of Canton Fair will be held in Canton city,Guangdong province from April 15 to 30, 2007. The fair, used to be named as China Export Commodities Fair for 100 sessions, is to be rebranded as China Import and Export Fair. By changing the name, a new service as import will be added, so as to encourage more import to meet the capacious market demand in China market, pursuing a more balanced and healthier international trade development.     

97th Chinese Export Commodities Fair

On April 15, the 97th Chinese Export Commodities Fair (CECF) was held in Guangzhou. This fair continued keeping the standard of the previous exhibitions. It was noted that on this fair the scale of the brand exhibition stands were much larger than the previous fair and the level was further improved.

There are 27,760 booths, 260 more than the previous session. And gross exhibition area reaches 555,000m^2, and net exhibition area 250,000m^2.     

Canton Fair, New Functions Perform In the New Era——Interview with official of China Foreign Trade Center

Sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (formerly known as the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation), the Chinese Export Commodities Fair, or Canton Fair, is held in April and October every year in Canton city, Guangdong Province. All domestic general import and export companies, as well as their provincial branches, are welcomed to participate. The first Canton Fair was held in the spring of 1957. Many different industries and fields were represented there: rice, cooking oil, food, farming products, textiles, silk, light industry, crafts, the chemical industry, the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, hardware and ore-mining industry, mechanical industry, electrical industry, and non-ferrous metal smelting, to name a few. The Canton Fair has grown substantially over the last fifty years, and now it has earned itself a reputation as "China's No.1 Fair", and as "China's Most Traditional Fair". In October, 2006, Canton Fair is greeting the 100th Anniversary. The fair has made splendid achievements, especially since the early 1980's when the policy of reform and opening-up was implemented.
