Energy isa burning issue of the day in China. This paper analyses the crucial reasons of energy shortage and traditional consumption models in China. Drawing from the experiences of some developed countries, the paper suggests that China should recognize the energy crisis by learning from America's"smart growth project" with the aim of transforming the city planning model, improving the public transportation and launching a "green building" movement in the country. All the policy options in this paper focus on the construction area, just because urbanization is now running at a peak capacity in China. The objective of the paper is to identify the relative policy options and actions in the nearest future.  相似文献

The financial crisis has provided a new opportunity for Sino-Latin American cooperation. In the past few years, China's economic ties to Latin America have witnessed comparable growth: from 1993 to 2003, China's trade with Latin America increased by 600 percent. Chinese president Hu Jintao set the mark for increasing trade with Latin America to US$100 billion by 2010, a goal easily met when trade surged to US$102.6 billion in 2007, which represents a 42.6 percent increase from 2006. In the first nine months of 2008, it was already up 52 percent from the same period 2007. It is widely believed that China and Latin America share the same pictures in the field of economic development, and increased relations between the two sides are mutually beneficial. Commented on the just-issued Chinese policy paper on Latin America and the Caribbean Region, the first on this topic, Jiang Shixue, vice president of the Chinese Association for Latin American Studies said the document is a clear indication that China is willing to promote Sino-Latin America ties, which will be focused on economics and trade.  相似文献

Xuan paper, one of the four treasures of China, is ideal for calligraphy and painting. Itwon a gold prize at the Panama Fair a century ago. Xuan paper was first made in Xuanzhou (Anhui Province today) during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The paper gets its name from Xuancheng where the raw materials for making paper were bought and sold. There are two kinds of Xuan paper—raw Xuan and processed Xuan in different lengths. The first is good for calligraphy and flower and bird paintings and the latter is best for figure drawing.  相似文献

Energy saving, emission reduction and economic development are major issues China has to meet in building a harmonious society. On one hand,China should pursue a sustainable, fast and sound economic development,on the other hand, she should try to decrease the overuse of energy resources and the environmental problems caused by the rapid economic growth. In this regard,on June 24,the Standing Committee of National People's Congress deliberated the draft of Energy Saving Law,according to which China is to take“resources saving”as a basic national policy. This is a key issue to the long-term benefits of China. With relevant questions,China's Foreign Trade interviewed Dr, Yonglong L(?),Secretary-general,Chinese Committee for SCOPE(Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment/ICSU).and Research Professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Let's listen to Dr.L(?)'s comments with wisdom.[第一段]  相似文献

China has cemented its position as one of the central pillars of global trade by exporting staggering quantities of manufacturer goods, and is arguably now second to none as the economic hub of Asia. According to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing(CFLP), China's logistics industry revenue grew 20% in 2002,27% in 2003,30% in 2004 and 33% in 2005.Rampant growth in logistics revenue points to an indus- try in good health. When we check what does"logistics"mean in Wikipedia, this free ency- clopedia online bumps out this definition:"Logistics is the art and science of managing and controlling the flow of goods, energy, information and other re- sources like products, services, and people, from the source of production to the marketplace,"Yes,logistics is an art, through which rhythm comes from, while logistics is a science,by which efficiency lies in. As the Beijing Olympics is approaching, transportation and logistics as a closely related industry has raised more and more attention.China has also at- tached an ever-greatest importance to this industry.Let's see how this large country is dancing into the year of 2008 to the rhythm of the whole world.
