公共关系的概念在商业传播中已经有比较深远的历史,事实上公共关系是一个国家对外宣传、形象推广、文化传播等的有力手段。国家公关对中国来说正在扮演着一个越来越重要的角色。通过对比的视角,将中国国家公关战略实施划分为两个阶段——"1971-2008年"和"2008年后",本文从国家公关的内容和国家公关的策略两方面进行对比,探讨中国在不同时期分别如何通过国家公关进行形象推广和国际传播。  相似文献

This paper reviews the debate within both the marketing and public relations literatures concerning the relationship between the disciplines of marketing and public relations. The paper considers the arguments advanced in the marketing literature, in particular, for a growing convergence between these two disciplines and examines the recent emergence of the concept of'marketing public relations'. Here the paper takes as one starting point an article which identified a number of possible schematic representations of the relationship between the marketing and public relations functions and argues the case for a model of increasing convergence between them.The paper goes on to consider the more recent development of ‘marketing public relations', examining the arguments advanced. The paper argues that from a public relations perspective, the concept of marketing public relations can be seen as an attempt by marketers to ‘hijack’ public relations, incorporating it as an extra element within the promotional mix in order to inform, persuade or remind existing and prospective customers of product or company benefits. It is argued that what some marketers have termed marketing public relations may be no more than the publicity element of public relations practice under a new guise — one perhaps more acceptable than publicity in the societally orientated firms of today. The paper explores two distinct schools of thought — re-examining the relationship between marketing and public relations from both perspectives. The paper suggests that the uneasy symbiosis between these two functions in practice, reflects to a large degree the ambiguity surrounding the relationship between these concepts within much of the literature.  相似文献

Public relations literature laments the lack of a theoretical base for the practice and ethics of public relations. Drawing primarily upon Koehn (The Ground of Professional Ethics, 1994) and Hutton (Public Relations Review, 1999), this paper proposes such a theoretical ground.The paper adopts Hutton's assertion that "the central organizing theme of public relations theory and practice" is relationships(Hutton, 1999, p. 209). It also relies upon Koehn (1994) to provide a theoretical discussion of the nature of professions, and the ground upon which professional ethics and public trust in the professions are based. It concludes, from a Koehnian perspective, that for public relations to move from the expertise and contractual models of practice into a covenantal model as a profession worthy of public trust, the field must devote itself to a defined human good (relationships), and must be grounded in a public pledge to serve this good.  相似文献

Abstract

This study is an investigation of advertising and public relations education over the past five years, presenting a regional analysis using data from the annual research project Where Shall I Go to Study Advertising and Public Relations? The results show the American Midwest, heartland and birthplace of advertising education, holding forth as the major region for advertising preparation. The Southeastern U.S. currently ranks first in public relations enrollment while the Midwest awards more PR degrees. In combined advertising/public relations programs, the Eastern U.S. leads in degrees awarded and student enrollment. Nationwide, all regions have experienced varying degrees of growth, reflecting the increased numbers seen in the national aggregate.  相似文献

Sice China opened its doors to foreign business in 1978, its economy has boomed with an annual growth rate of 13 percent in recent years. As market competition has become increasingly intense, the demand for public relations has rapidly escalated as a growing number of local and foreign businesses battle for a piece of the Chinese market. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the Korean public relations practitioners' perceptions toward ethical issues, individual practices, and ethical standards in the context of ethical ideology. The survey was conducted with the Korean public relations practitioners. A 2 (Relativism: High/Low) × 2 (Idealism: High/Low) factorial design was devised for the analysis.The MANOVA results showed that ethical ideology (idealism and relativism) had significant effects on ethical decision-making. Idealistic ideology had a main effect on ethical issues, individual practices, and ethical standards. However, relativistic ideology only affected the decision-making process related to ethical issues. No interaction effects were detected. This study indicated that the individual's ethical ideology could be an important variable in explaining the outcomes of the individual's ethical decision-making among Korean public relations practitioners.  相似文献

The current situation in public relations programme evaluation is neatly summarized by McCoy who commented that ‘probably the most common buzzwords in public relations in the last ten years have been evaluation and accountability’ (McCoy 2005, 3). This paper examines the academic and practitioner‐based literature and research on programme evaluation and it detects different priorities and approaches that may partly explain why the debate on acceptable and agreed evaluation methods continues. It analyses those differences and proposes a research agenda to bridge the gap and move the debate forward.  相似文献

Consultancy? Or in-house department? Public relations and communication graduates usually extensively debate the “pros and cons” of the industry's two key employment options. However, to date there has been a lack of research into potential differences in required skill sets, career advancement, and promotional opportunities between these two employment types. Contrary to management research, public relations scholars have largely focused on traditional career advancement determinants, such as experience in years and gender, largely failing to embrace modern management research into career advancement. Based on the author's previous research into alternative career advancement factors, which has highlighted the importance of social competencies and networking skills for PR practitioners, this article sets out to investigate potential differences in career advancement factors and career development patterns for in-house and consultancy-based practitioners.  相似文献

企业发展过程中难免遭遇危机,从发生机理、发展路径到应对策略,网络环境下的危机与传统环境下的危机有很大不同。通过梳理网络环境危机的特征,建立公关危机的生命周期模型,并结合家乐福、三株等案例对网络环境下的企业危机公关进行比较分析,认为在网络媒体环境下危机成型时期主动联络媒体,能有效控制风险并顺势转危为机;同时也提出了进行危机公关的策略。  相似文献

This study employs several critical theories in order to demonstrate their explanatory power in understanding public relations communication, globalization within campaign communication, and, in particular, some sample campaign messages drawn from public relations research and practice. In particular, critical theories of cultural studies, semiotics, and postmodernism inform the design and understanding of public relations messages through the tools of analysis they offer and through the rich vocabulary they provide. This study argues that public relations is the logical business communication discipline to develop theory and research into campaign message design and globalization issues utilizing the critical paradigm.  相似文献
