高效的第三方物流活动在增强企业核心竞争力、提高增值服务水平、降低物流成本、优化内外资源等方面都起着不可替代的作用。但第三方物流这些作用能否得以充分发挥很大程度上取决于第三方物流供应商的水平和实力,而目前现有的评价选择方法又有一定局限,所以能否建造有效的第三方物流供应商的选择模型、能否选择合适的第三方物流供应商成为企业物流业务外包成败的关键,这也是很有现实意义又亟待解决的问题。  相似文献

A growing number of firms are considering the incorporation of environmental thinking into their business strategies, hoping to improve their competitiveness. In this paper, we analyze the effects of pollution prevention and service stewardship capabilities on firm differentiation advantage in the third‐party logistics industry. Since prior research claims that complementary assets play an important role in fully understanding the environmental‐management‐competitiveness link, we furthermore examine the moderating role of environmental communication on the pollution‐prevention‐differentiation and the service‐stewardship‐differentiation linkages. We theoretically base our research in natural‐resource‐based thinking. Drawing on survey data, we apply multivariate regression and moderation analysis. The results highlight that pollution prevention and service stewardship capabilities can help third‐party logistics providers to achieve a differentiation advantage. Also, the results show that environmental communication moderates the effect of pollution prevention on differentiation advantage and can hence be considered a valuable complementary asset. Electricity prices on the European market have decreased significantly over the past few years, resulting in a deterioration of Swiss hydropower firms’ competitiveness and profitability. One option to improve the sector’s competitiveness is to increase cost efficiency. The goal of this study is to quantify the level of persistent and transient cost efficiency of individual firms by applying the generalized true random effects (GTRE) model introduced by Colombi et al. (Journal of Productivity Analysis 42(2): 123–136, 2014) and Filippini and Greene (Journal of Productivity Analysis 45(2): 187–196, 2016). Applying this newly developed GTRE model to a total cost function, the level of cost efficiency of 65 Swiss hydropower firms is analyzed for the period between 2000 and 2013. A true random effects specification is estimated as a benchmark for the transient level of cost efficiency. The results show the presence of both transient as well as persistent cost inefficiencies. The GTREM predicts the aggregate level of cost inefficiency to amount to 21.8% (8.0% transient, 13.8% persistent) on average between 2000 and 2013. These two components differ in interpretation and implication. From an individual firm’s perspective, the two types of cost inefficiencies might require a firm’s management to respond with different improvement strategies. The existing level of persistent inefficiency could prevent the hydropower firms from adjusting their production processes to new market environments. From a regulatory point of view, the results of this study could be used in the scope and determination of the amount of financial support given to struggling firms.  相似文献

随着国际贸易的发展,港口的功能越来越丰富,港口物流因为对周边物流活动的辐射能力也越来越受到重视,在港口竞争日益激烈的大背景下,中心港口城市只有不断提升港口物流竞争力才能立于不败之地。文中将港口物流竞争力理解为吸引货流的能力和吸引资源积聚的能力,并从这两个角度出发研究港口物流竞争力的影响因素,文中在现有文献的基础上从波特的钻石模型出发得出一系列评价港口物流竞争力的因素,一部分是定性的,一部分是定量的,定量指标通过灰色关联度求出了与竞争力的关联度大小。通过分析发现,能力、成本和效率是影响港口物流的竞争力水平的重要因素。研究中结合上海港口物流的具体案例,并得出上海自贸区的设立可以有效提升港口物流竞争力的结论。  相似文献

Intelligent transformation of manufacturers requires smart logistics transformation collaboration, which improves competitiveness. In this study, we construct a Stackelberg game model based on the mutual influence and restriction in the relationship between a manufacturer and a logistics service provider (LSP) undergoing smart logistics transformation. We investigate whether cost-sharing (CS) or revenue-sharing (RS) contracts can coordinate the supply chain and suggest a hybrid CS–RS contract to improve performance. We find that, compared with decentralized options, CS and RS contracts achieve a higher level of smart logistics transformation. While the coordination and effectiveness of CS contracts are superior to those of RS contracts, neither can fully coordinate the supply chain. The proposed hybrid CS–RS contract allows the manufacturer to share the LSP’s costs before the transformation and its partial revenue after transformation, so that the LSP can reduce its service charge, thereby achieving full supply chain coordination.  相似文献

The logistics sector is one of the most important domains in the service sector in understanding the increasing scale of business activities along with globalization. Due to the nature of the service sector, where competition is increasingly concentrated, the main objective of firms is the creation of their strategy on competitive advantage in regard with knowing the level of quality of the services offered and the firm's image from the customers' point of view. Trying to adapt to the changing conditions of the market drives firms to integrate their competing areas into their sustainability dimensions (economic, social, and environmental) with the aim of increasing their perceived quality through differentiating their business to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. The aim of this study is to examine the quality level perceived by logistics service providers in terms of triple bottom line approach and to determine the relationship between them for sustainable competition. In line with exploratory methods, factor analysis was used with the aim of finding out a new scale to the literature about the examination of the relationship between quality perception and corporate sustainability in the frame of competition. In this context, data of 120 logistics service providers were collected and analysed. According to the results, the content of the subject consists of nine factors and 29 interrelated subdimensions. As a result of the research, firms have emphasized on the importance of reaching the competition by expanding their quality perceptions within the scope of corporate sustainability in parallel with the increasing customer demands and expectations.  相似文献

This article analyses the market dynamics between shippers in the manufacturing sector and logistics service providers (LSPs) in Finland and Switzerland, focusing on factors that are characteristic of the demand and supply sides of logistics markets such as performance indicators, financial ratios and relevant macroeconomic indicators. The development of shippers’ logistics costs over a period of ten years is analysed as a proxy for cost savings. This is mirrored against the development of the LSPs’ financial performance. The share of logistics costs in the turnover of Finnish shippers is consistently higher than that of their Swiss peers, whereas Finnish LSPs perform financially better than their Swiss peers. This implies that Finnish and Swiss logistics markets differ in terms of market power and interdependence between shippers and LSPs. The results indicate that the sub-regional interdependence and market power of LSPs, caused by a lack of competition, explain some of the differences in logistics costs.  相似文献

通过构建由物流基础资源、物流规模、社会经济发展水平和信息化发展水平组成的城市物流竞争力评价指标体系,采用熵权法评价了山东省六大国家物流枢纽承载城市的物流竞争力,并与山东省其它11地市进行了比较。研究结果表明,山东省六大国家物流枢纽承载城市的物流竞争力排名从高到低依次为青岛、烟台、济南、临沂、潍坊、日照;除日照外,山东省其它五大国家物流枢纽承载城市的物流竞争力均优于山东省其它地市。此外,根据对城市物流竞争力的影响因素分析,提出了提升国家物流枢纽承载城市物流竞争力的建议。  相似文献

In 2014, the Standardization Administration of China launched its first pilot project of the logistics service standardization (LSS). We examine whether the staggered adoption of the LSS creates value for shareholders using a difference-in-difference research design. The findings suggest that firms located in LSS cities have higher firm value in terms of Tobin’s Q and stock returns than those of non-LSS cities. In further analysis, we find that the LSS enhances firm value by improving corporate operational efficiency. However, the LSS increases large firms’ market share at the expense of small firms. Overall, our findings advance the literature of logistics system reform and show that such reform creates value for shareholders.  相似文献
