“More Romanian Furniture and Wine Will Be in China”—An Exclusive Interview with Mr.Sorin Dimitriu, President of Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Mr.Sorin Dimitriu,President of Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry,is an old friend of China.This August,he visited Beijing for the Romanian-Chinese Business Forum,along with 35 Romanian enterprises as a large business delegation accompanying Romanian Prime Minister Mr.Emil Boc's visit to China.Less than one month later,he was in Beijing again for the 2011 Beijing International Conference of Friendly Chambers of Commerce in September.In his career life,he has made great efforts to the promotion of Romanian-Chinese business.On the bilateral trade and investment of between Romania and China,China's Foreign Trade took an exclusive interview with Mr.Sorin Dimitriu.     

Bulgaria,Boosting Energy Cooperation with China——Interview with Deputy Minister Yaneva,Ministry of Economy and Energy,the Republic of Bulgaria

Deputy Minister Yaneva of Economy and Energy,the Republic of Bul- garia,a nice lady with outstanding talents,headed a delegation of Bulgaria to visit China in late June,for the participation at the 13th Bulgarian-Chi- nese Intergovernmental Commission for Economic,Trade,Scientific and Technical Cooperation.As an important instrument,the Joint Commission played a significant role in promoting the overall development of the bilat- eral economic relations. China's Foreign Trade interviewed Deputy Minister Yaneva and she gave very constructive suggestions on promoting the bilateral economic and trade cooperation between the two countries,especially in the area of energy cooperation.The following is a written interview with Deputy Min- ister Yaneva.     

Shaukat Aziz： Closer Ties with China Benefits Pakistan

China and Pakistan are good neighbors and time-honored friends. During the past 56 years of diplomatic relations, both sides have developed a special friendship which enjoys the fame of "All Weather Friendship". At the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz paid an official visit to China in April, and attended the 2007 Annual Conference of Boao Forum. During his visit, the Prime Minister contacted Chinese government leaders. Both sides have reached a common understanding of promoting the China-Pakistan Strategic Cooperative Partnership to a new stage, especially on the following issues: 1. Actively implementing China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement(FTA) and China-Pakistan Economic and Trade Cooperation 5-year Development Program, encourage the mutual investment, adjust the trade structure, and promote the fast and healthy economic development of both sides. 2. Expand the people's communication and exchange, enhance the mutual understanding, and consolidate the traditional friendship. 3. Tighten the communication and cooperation in multi-lateral affairs, and strengthen the stability and development of the South Asia. For a long term, as a famous financial expert and banker, Shaukat Aziz has been dedicated to the financial development. Now, as a Prime Minister, he has made tremendous contributions in promoting the Pakistan-China economic and trade cooperation. China-Egypt, Closer in Crisis

Rashid Mohamed Rashid, Egyptian minister of Ministry of Trade and Industry, with his .commercial delegation visited China in the late February, seeking for more cooperation channels and projects for two countries＇ development in the current international financial crisis. On February 25, the China-Egypt Business Seminar was held in Beijing, to usher over 200 entrepreneurs from both sides sit together to have the matchingmaking.

Early December 2003, Fangfei Garden of Diaoyutai State Guesthouse was overwhelmed by a group of sagacious former leaders of Asian countries and elites of the region. Meeting of Initiators for Education Forum for Asia was held in this former royal garden from December 4th to 6th. Seven distinguished initiators including-Mr. Fidel V. China and Thailand Discuss Innovative Investment Online

On March 18,the China-Thailand Investment Cooperation Forum,organized by BOI(the Thailand Board of Investment),CCOIC(the China Chamber of International Commerce)and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council,was held online.The CCPIT and CCOIC Chairperson Gao Yan,Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Chairman Lin Jianyue attended the forum and delivered speeches.     

Supply and Marketing Cooperatives

China Supply and Marketing Cooperatives Council of CCPIT was established in March 1996. It is an institution under direct leadership of China Supply and Marketing Cooperatives and at the same time a branch of China Council for Promotion of International Trade, with its major task to promoting and facilitating export-oriented economic trade and technological cooperation of the national supply and marketing cooperative system.     

France Welcome Chinese Business Delegation

According to the Press Communiqu6 between China and France issued on 1st April, both sides decided to conduct high-level contact and strategic dialogue ,at a proper time to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields and promote a harmonious and steady growth in Sino-France relations. Since then, the high officials from both countries experienced a frequent meet period. Former Premier Minister of France, Raffarin, with a commercial delegation, at- tended Sino-French Economic Seminar held on April 8, and also a ground-breaking ceremony for the new Embassy of France in China followed after. President of National Assembly of France, Bernard Accoyer arrived in Beijing on April 20, for a one-week visit. When met with Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People＇s Congress, Accoyer asked him to hand in a letter from Sarkozy, President of France, to Hu Jintao, President of PRC. It was an invitation letter for President Hu for a visit to France. Accoyer was the highest poli- tician from France who visited China in last four months after Sino-France relation became cold due to the Tibet issue. Anne- Marie Idrac, French Minister of State for foreign Trade attended the Boao Forum on April 17 in Hainan. During her 7 days＇ visit she met the Chinese high officials, and visited some of the Sino- France joint companies. When she was in Beijing, Idrac held a press conference and answered questions on the foreign trade between the two countries.     

China-Pakistan Strengthen Bilateral Custom Cooperation

Mr. Abdullah Yusuf, Secretary General/Chairman, Central Board of Revenue of Pakistart, arrived Shenzhen on April 22 to meet with Mr. Sheng Guangzu, the Chinese Minister for Customs Administration for discussing the bilateral customs issues. During his two-day visit, China＇s Foreign Trade Magazine interviewed to Mr. Abdullah Yusuf in Beijing, he gave the high evaluation on this visit and China＇s great development in the recent years.
