This paper presents entrainment mechanism, and transported and diffusion characteristics at the point of entry of submerged jet. The profiles of both velocity and concentration within the air water mixing layer were theoretically deduced. And the comparisons between theoretical values and measured data were made. Results show that the velocity profile within the air water mixing layer exhibits a form of error function. The concentrations of air entrainment in the internal and external regions of ai~water mixing layer correspond to Gaussian distribution.  相似文献

CONDENSATION HEAT TRANSFER OF R-134a IN A HELICAL PIPE   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Alternative refrigerant R-134a is considered to be ozone-friendly and a potential candidate for replacing the refrigerant R-12 in refrigeration and air-conditioning applica tions. This paper presents an experimental investigation on condensation heat transfer of the alternative refrigerant R134a flowing inside a helicoidal pipe with the cooling water flowing through the annular helicoidal passage in a counterflow direction. The heat transfer experiments were performed for R-134a mass flow flux ranging from 100 to 420 kg/m^2s with the superheat of the inlet vapor of 2. 8oc and 8. 3℃, respectively. The average Nusseh numbers were experimentally determined for a helicoidal pipe with the helix axis of vertical direction. In addition, the obtained experimental results were compared with the results for R-134a condensation in straight and helicoidal pipes available in the open literature.  相似文献

An electrochemical method is employed to study experimentally natural convection driven by combined thermal and solutal buoyant forces in a fluid-saturated porous enclosure. The horizontal temperature and concentration gradients are imposed in such a way that their effects on the flow are either opposing or augmenting. The inside temperature profiles and heat and mass transfer characteristics on the vertical walls are experimentally determined. This article presents the flow mechanism analysis and experimental study of a forward-skewed impeller and a radial impeller in low pressure axial fan. The forward-skewed blade was obtained by the optimization design of the radial blade and CFD technique. Measurement of the two blades was carried out in aerodynamic and aeroacoustic performance. Compared to the radial blade, the forward-skewed blade has demonstrated the improvements in efficiency, total pressure ratio, Stable Operating Range (SOR) and less aerodynamic noise. Detailed flow measurement and computation were performed for outlet flow field for investigating the responsible flow mechanisms. The results show the forward-skewed blade can cause a spanwise redistribution of flow toward the blade mid-span and reduce tip loading. This results in reduced significantly total pressure loss near hub and shroud endwall region, despite the slight increase of total pressure loss at mid-span.  相似文献

Flow distribution headers play a major role in heat exchangers. The selection of header diameter, branch pipe diameter, branch pipe spacing etc. is based on the designer's experience and general guide lines. The proper selection of the header dimensions will yield uniform flow distribution in heat exchangers, which in turn will enhance the heat exchanger efficiency. In this work, the flow distribution in branch pipes and the pressure variation across the branch pipes in laminar and low turbulence region is studied with two models of the inlet dividing headers. When the numerical analysis has been applied, its inability to predict the no flow condition through the branch pipes is revealed. The results are presented in the form of flow rate ratio through branch pipes and nondimensional coefficients across branch pipes which are useful to apply the existing mathematical models for the present experimental setup.  相似文献
