北川、汶川、理县、茂县、什邡禹迹考辨

在我国的传世典籍中,战国的《竹书纪年》最先有“禹生石纽”的记载,后成都郫县人扬雄的《蜀王本纪》也有“禹本汶山郡广柔县人,生于石纽”的文字记载,但汶山郡所辖诸县都有大禹的活动遗迹,因而出现了大禹出生地之争。今通过对几处石纽的名与实的景观、石纽地名传存、“石纽”与“石纽山”题刻、古籍中“石纽山”记载、“涂禹山”与“禹碑岭”等遗迹、北川县禹穴沟三处“禹穴”题刻、什邡市“禹穴”等内容的考证可知,北川县禹里乡的石纽山才是名副其实的石纽山,也就是大禹王出生地。

汶川大地震的回顾与反思

我国2008年5月12日发生的汶川大地震,来势凶猛,波及范围广,破坏力大,它是板块活动的结果,震中位于龙门山断裂带的中央断裂带上,以汶川的映秀镇为中心。从地震成因、影响范围和便于灾后重建来讲,汶川大地震应更名为龙门山地震。本次地震有明显的“跷跷板”现象,主震发于断裂带南端,余震区集中于北端川、甘、陕三省接壤地区。因此在发震之初要加强对断裂北端的监视。此外,也要加强对灾区次生地质灾害的防备。灾后重建应尊重科学,严禁无序建设。成都地区虽未受大的影响,但今后该区建筑物抗震烈度还可适当提高,对成都附近断层也要加强监视。

Does Calculating Retirement Needs Boost Retirement Savings?

Calculating retirement savings needs is often viewed as an essential first step in retirement planning. Yet, little empirical evidence exists to support the value of this activity. This case study examines the connection between calculating retirement savings needs and retirement savings through analysis of an online survey of benefits‐eligible employees at a large Mountain West university. Controlling for a variety of possible covariates, and using an instrumental variable approach, the case study shows that having estimated a retirement savings target increases self‐reported retirement savings. The results provide support for financial educators and planners in their efforts to encourage people to estimate their retirement needs early in the retirement planning process.

Restaurant Fish and Seafood Utilization:

The study employs ordered probit analysis to measure the effects of restaurant characteristics on restaurant fish and seafood utilization in the United States. The study uses data from the 1988 Southern Regional Aquaculture Center (SRAX) restaurant survey. Restaurant size and regional location are found to be the important factors affecting fish and seafood utilization by restaurants. Size of restaurant is directly related to fish utilization. The probability of fish utilization is highest among restaurants in the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions and lowest among restaurants in the Mountain region.
