Sino-Latin American Trade, Closer Tie

The financial crisis has provided a new opportunity for Sino-Latin American cooperation. In the past few years, China＇s economic ties to Latin America have witnessed comparable growth： from 1993 to 2003, China＇s trade with Latin America increased by 600 percent. Chinese president Hu Jintao set the mark for increasing trade with Latin America to US$100 billion by 2010, a goal easily met when trade surged to US$102.6 billion in 2007, which represents a 42.6 percent increase from 2006. In the first nine months of 2008, it was already up 52 percent from the same period 2007. It is widely believed that China and Latin America share the same pictures in the field of economic development, and increased relations between the two sides are mutually beneficial. Commented on the just-issued Chinese policy paper on Latin America and the Caribbean Region, the first on this topic, Jiang Shixue, vice president of the Chinese Association for Latin American Studies said the document is a clear indication that China is willing to promote Sino-Latin America ties, which will be focused on economics and trade.

China-ASEAN Cooperation Sees 30th Year Anniversary

The year 2021 marks the 30th year anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN.It is also marks a year which is in the name of China-ASEAN cooperation for sustainable development.On the occasion of the 30 th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN,Chinese President Xi Jinping pointed out,“since the establishment of dialogue between China and ASEAN 30 years ago,the two sides have deepened their all-round cooperation and become each other’s largest trading partners.Bilateral cooperation between the two has become the most dynamic in the Asia Pacific region.     

The Russian-Chinese Bilateral Trade Faces Severe Challenges in 2009

＂In 2008, though the economic and trade relations between Russia and China made progress, the slowdown of economic growth is still worrying. Belarus Attaches Great Importance to Trade Cooperation with China

Belarus is an important trade partner of China. In January, a Belarus trade delegation, headed by Uldimir N. Great Potentials for China and Bangladesh to Develop Trade and Economic Cooperation

Bangladesh is the friendly neighboring country of China. Since two countries established diplomatic relations 30 years ago, along with the constant development of friendly relations, the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries has been closer and closer. In 2000, the trade volume of the two countries was only US$920 million; in 2004 the trade volume of the two sides was up to US$1.96billion, over 100% more than that of 2000 and the highest record in history. At present,Bangladesh has become China's third largest trading partner in South Asia.In the first two months of this year, the trade volume of the two countries continued to grow at a rate of 40%; the trade volume in 2005 will top US$2billion and will be about US$2.5 billion. More Dialogue and Further Development

In January 2008 Slovenia took over the six-month rotating Presidency of the EU Council and this is the first time since the wide EU expansion in 2004 that a new member state bears this responsibility. China is Slovenia＇s most important trading partner in Asia and in the past few years the turnover between China and Slovenia has been increasing steadily. Since 1992, China and Slovenia have maintained high-level contacts and regular dialogue. In November 2007, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa paid a visit on the state level, which was very successful and provided a new push for further strengthening of bilateral ties. This year marks the 16th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Slovenia. China＇s Foreign Trade appreciated the opportunity to interview His Excellency Dr. Marjan Cencen, ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the People＇s Republic of China, and discuss bilateral relations of the two countries, the new business exchange, while also taking a look at relations between China and EU.     

China-EU Economic Relation： Fluctuating in 2008

The economic relation between China and EU has the great significance to each party as well as to the world. As the great political and economic powers in the today＇s world, China and EU have the urgent motivations to promote the economic cooperation between them at the global times. The economic relation between China and Europe, including the trade and economic cooperation and investment between China and Europe, has been developing greatly since 1975. The bilateral trade volume has increased rapidly, ahnost being doubled in 3 years since 2000. The bilateral trade volume arrived at US$356.2 billion in 2007. In 2007, China＇s import from EU was US$111 billion, which increases by 22% comparing with that in 2006, and exportation to EU is US$245 billion, which increases by 29%.

On November 3 to 5, the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation was held in Beijing.
