Internet Security: A Novel Role/Object-Based Access Control for Digital Libraries

Internet-based, real-world applications require appropriate security mechanisms because potentially millions of users and their agents (or participants) will access billions of objects of information content in complex workflow processes (e.g., commerce, learning, healthcare). Security is one of the strategic technologies that will increase the value and utility of the Internet and Internet-based applications. Traditional security issues deal with the authentication and authorization of users in network domains. Today there are numerous novel security issues concerning users, information content, and application systems in information domains. Among these, we will consider a novel role/object-based access control mechanism for both participants and objects in workflow processes of information domains. In particular, we will present our implementation of this mechanism for digital libraries.     

A Workflow-Based Methodology for Developing Hypermedia Information Systems

Recently, many enterprises have attempted to construct hypermedia systems for electronic commerce innovation by the use of Internet technologies. In this hypermedia-enabled environment, hypermedia development can be considered in terms of workflow. In this article we propose a workflow-aware hypermedia development methodology, workflow-based hypermedia development methodology, to guide developers in creating hypermedia information systems. The methodology employs a workflow model based on corporate documents and is thus more likely to utilize users' business requirements in a natural fashion. The methodology consists of four phases: workflow analysis, document analysis, hypermedia design, and implementation. The emphasis of each phase is on aligning business requirements with hypermedia development technologies. To demonstrate the practical usefulness of the methodology, a real-life case is illustrated.

科研单位的思想政治工作在新时期新形势下面临许多前所未有的困难,有针对性地做好科研人员的思想政治工作是全面完成科研生产任务、实现改革发展稳定的重要保障。在分析企业科研单位建立思想政治工作预警机制的必要性的基础上,建立了由信息收集系统、信息分析系统、问题解决系统、信息反馈系统和监督考核系统等五个方面构成的企业科研单位思想政治工作预警系统,并分析了预警系统的工作流程,提出了需要注意的问题。     

A Software Implementation of Kimbrough's Disquotation Theory for Representing and Enforcing Electronic Commerce Contracts

Kimbrough's Disquotation Theory, a formal theory about sentences that embed propositional content, expounds the fulfillment and violation conditions for speech acts such as asserting, permitting, and obliging. This paper aims to show how the theory can be profitably applied to the creation of computational environments for monitoring and enforcing electronic commerce contracts using pervasive, mainstream industrial technologies such as Java and relational databases. We examine the notion of an occurrence and provide a structural representation of this abstraction. We show how contractual provisions – obligations, permissions, prohibitions, and powers – can be stored, monitored, and enforced. A query overlap determination mechanism is applied to the problem of monitoring occurrences and analyzing contractual provisions for conflicts. The work presented here demonstrates that, with certain alterations, Kimbrough's theory presents a promising means of storing interrogable and executable specifications for e-commerce workflow applications.     

Semi-Automatic Identification of Counterfeit Offers in Online Shopping Platforms

Product counterfeiting in online platforms is an increasingly serious problem causing estimated losses of billions of dollars every year. The huge number of online shops and offered products call for largely automated approaches to identify likely counterfeits, although identifying counterfeits is very difficult even for humans. The authors propose the adoption of a semi-automatic workflow to inspect product offers in online platforms and to determine likely counterfeit offers based on different criteria. Such suspicious offers are to be presented to a domain expert for manual verification. The workflow includes steps to match and cluster similar product offers, and to assess the counterfeit suspiciousness based on different criteria. The goal is to support the periodic identification of many counterfeit offers with a limited amount of manual effort. The authors also present a preliminary evaluation of the proposed approach on a case study using the eBay platform.     

基于工作角色视角的独立董事尽责机理与实证检验

简单、程序化的工作流程以及严重的信息不对称,使得独立董事有意无意地远离了“诚实信用,勤勉尽责”的工作信条。如何才能让独立董事尽责履职发挥应有的价值,成为一个非常值得关注的理论焦点和实务难题。本文基于工作角色视角对独立董事进行了再认识,简述了其尽责的微观机理过程,并基于工作角色对企业绩效影响进行了实证研究。研究发现独立董事明确的工作角色,无论是强调其协调性、监督性还是专业性,都能降低独立董事的角色混淆和角色冲突感知,有利于提高企业绩效。更进一步,独立董事的监督性和专业性主要通过角色混淆影响企业绩效。因此提升独立董事的专业水平、协调水平和监督意识,能减少其不作为或不独立现象,有利于提高绩效。     

摇摆状态一维相控阵天线波束指向修正

由于载机平台摇摆,一维相控阵天线姿态会发生倾斜,从而影响波束指向。为此,提出了一 种修正方法,给出了适应于各种监视雷达系统（如二次航管系统）工作原理的详细修正流程 及算法。试验结果表明,所提方法使 天线能维持高指向精度。

工作流技术是实现企业业务过程建模,业务过程管理和集成,最终实现业务过程自动化的核心技术,为支持企业间的协同工作提供了一种有效的方法。但是现有的工作流技术在虚拟企业中明显存在着开放性和动态交互性等方面的不足,本文正是针对此点提出了一种基于 Agent 工作流建模方法,并建立了相应的整体模型。
