Societal embedding and product creation management

Societal embedding of new products - that is, their integration in relevant industries and markets, their admissibility with regard to regulation and standards, and their acceptance by the public - is a challenge. A management approach is developed based on our case studies in the biotechnology sector and on recent innovation literature. Tools are presented to map internal and external alignments. Learning processes, in interaction with societal actors, overcome the dilemmas or at least make them manageable.

Managing product innovation at sony: the development of the data discman

Successjulb innovativejms tend to be those that have evolved organizational mechanisms that enable areas of specialist knowledge and expertise, 'fragmented' throughout the firm amongst specialists, to be easily integrated and applied to a particular function. This paper looks at how such mechanisms, working within a broader corporate anvironment that is conducive to creative change, underlie much of the success of a particular Fapanese firm in its management of the product development process. The case study examines how a new multi-media product, the Data Discman, was developed by a project team in Sony. It shows how common hurdles in the drive for a working, cost-effective and marketable product, in this case a novel combination of specialized technologies, are overcome quickly and effectively for project success.     

How cross-functional management influences new product development: a socio-technical perspective

This paper develops an integrated theoretical framework of cross-functional management from a socio-technical perspective, focusing on technical support, job rotation and process standardisation. It then explores the effects of these three practices on new product development (NPD) via a global survey of 725 manufacturing companies in 20 countries. The results show that technical support and job rotation are positively related to the speed of NPD, while process standardisation and job rotation are positively associated with the quality of new products. These results contribute to the field of NPD by integrating the technical and social aspects of cross-functional management.     

浅谈企业盈余管理

盈余管理是指当有选择会计政策的自由时,企业管理当局选择使其自身效用最大化或使企业价值最大化的行为。正因为盈余管理不同于会计造假,也不同于超出制度许可范围的盈余操纵,盈余管理问题已成为西方国家实证会计研究的重点之一。本文试图对盈余管理存在的客观务件及动机作出解释,接着分析了盈余管理的常用手段,并提出了有效规制盈余管理的具体措施。     

Integrating technology roadmapping and portfolio management at the front-end of new product development

Many authors point out that the front-end of new product development (NPD) is a critical success factor in the NPD process and that numerous companies face difficulties in carrying it out appropriately. Therefore, it is important to develop new theories and proposals that support the effective implementation of this earliest phase of NPD. This paper presents a new method to support the development of front-end activities based on integrating technology roadmapping (TRM) and project portfolio management (PPM). This new method, called the ITP Method, was implemented at a small Brazilian high-tech company in the nanotechnology industry to explore the integration proposal. The case study demonstrated that the ITP Method provides a systematic procedure for the fuzzy front-end and integrates innovation perspectives into a single roadmap, which allows for a better alignment of business efforts and communication of product innovation goals. Furthermore, the results indicated that the method may also improve quality, functional integration and strategy alignment.     

The influence of development experience and product innovativeness on product outcome

This empirical study of high-technology product performance shows the influence of experience and product innovativeness on product success.In a logistic analysis of 162 product successes and failures, building on market and technical experience were significant predictors of success. An interaction between technical and market experience was also found to be highly significant. This study empirically validates the value of exparience building in successful product development, and reinforces the need for organizational mechanisms to retain and transfer product deuelopment learning.

基于协同效应的横向兼并的模型研究

本文在拓展SALANT模型的基础上,研究了存在协同效应的情况下,同质企业横向兼并发生的条件及社会福利变化情况.结果表明:当协同效应足够大时,企业不仅有兼并动机,而且有利于社会福利的提高,为普遍存在的兼并行为和政府规制政策标准提供了理论依据,破解了Repall的"兼并悖论".

对高校人工成本管理的思考

随着高等教育的扩招,中国高等教育步入大众化阶段。近年来,社会对高等教育资源的规模、质量、服务能力等方面的需求日益旺盛,而教育资源特别是人力资源是有限的,忽视人工成本管理,会使人力资源得不到有效的配置,造成对人力资源的高消费。高校作为非营利性事业单位,开源上受到限制,而如何节流成为研究的重点。运用问卷调查和深度访谈法,从人工成本的构成出发,提出应进行总量控制,降低招募成本,重置成本,增加专业定向成本、在职培训成本和脱产培训成本有助于整体人工成本的控制。     

浅析金融全球化与中国银行业重构

任何事物都具有两重性,金融全球化对任何国家都是利弊共存的,本文先就金融全球化的定义和特点作简要地阐述,然后通过对其他学者研究结论进行分析,得出结论,一个国家是否能从金融全球化中受益,取决于国家具体环境和体制特征,而这其中最重要的是金融体制,由于中国是以银行为主导的金融体制,所以,银行业重构就成了这个问题的关键。得出结论后,通过分析中国目前银行业存在的主要问题,参照韩国银行业重构的成功经验.提出了相应的重构方案。
