历史的见证

古巴比伦王朝,最早的饭店出现。古罗马和古希腊时期(公元前400年到公元200年),饭店业分化为专门为政府邮政和政府官员服务的“邮站”和主要服务于普通大众的“客栈”两类。中世纪和文艺复兴时期,饭店业进一步发展。16世纪晚期,英国已经有了6000家客栈。     

阎玉朋 见证天狮历史

早就知道天狮管理团队当中有位阎玉朋副总裁，始终跟随李金元，是天狮的创业元老之一，是天狮12年发展的历史见证人。然而记者多方寻找，几乎没有看到媒体对他的报道。所以，记者眼中的阎玉朋，很神秘……因为阎玉朋的临时出差，记者没能在天津天狮总部采访到他，于是，我们一路追到了成都。8月10日，我们在成都一家酒店的楼顶茶座见到了他。记者曾经看到过照片中的阎玉朋，但见面还是吃了一障，因为他的年轻，因为他的儒雅，也因为他的洒脱。

If you want to come by water, there are a series of international and domestic sea routes in the port of Tianjin, which is the biggest man-made port in China. If you plan to arrive by air, Tianjin Binhai International Airport offers excellent service. Planes have routes that reach most of the major cities in China and also cities in Europe and America. Of course, arriving in Tianjin by land is another option, while trains or long- distance buses are yet another alternative.

The Life History of Cohorts of Exits from German Manufacturing

An investigation of the life history of three cohorts of exits based on longitudinal data covering the population of all manufacturing firms in a German federal state reveals three empirical regularities: (1) Although the probability of exit tends to decline with age ceteris paribus, only about a quarter of all exits is from the group of young firms aged five years or less. (2) Only a minor fraction of exits lived through a period of continous decline of employment for five years or more before closing down. (3) The "impact effect" of job loss due to exits can differ sharply from the "long run effect".

当前,胡锦涛总书记关于打造山东半岛蓝色经济区的战略部署,已引起了各界强烈关注,也成为摆在山东省面前的重大机遇与战略任务。烟台市是山东省重要的沿海城市,也是建设蓝色经济区的重点地区。100多年来烟台市的兴旺和衰落都与港口的变化发展密不可分。文章从近代以来烟台港口腹地变迁引起的城市兴衰入手,分析当前烟台市"以港兴市"发展中面临的障碍,并进一步提出烟台"以港兴市"发展战略措施。     

A Short History of Efficiency

Efficiency is a management concept with a long history, running from scientific management to business process reengineering. In the early 20th century Harrington Emerson, an engineer, argued that an efficient organisation was a necessary prerequisite to task and process efficiency. Rejecting the machine metaphor of scientific management, Emerson conceived of an organic organisation where efficiency was a natural occurrence, not an imposed set of targets and procedures — a concept that has a lot in common with total quality management and a management philosophy that remains valid and important.

A comparison of current practices in German manufacturing industries

Supplier-customer relations based on JIT deliveries are becoming more and more common in many industries. Theoretical discussion indicates both advantages and disadvantages. This paper covers the results of a comprehensive survey of three different German industrial branches presented from the customer's point of view. The questions answered concerned the objectives, dissemination, and success of JIT. The survey revealed that the JIT concept is seldom used in the same way or to the same extent, despite already being widely spread. It still needs to be developed further in future.
