掌握城市带之间的吸引范围,有利于空间经济相互地合理组织与城市的空间发展。应用空间相互作用理论,城市规模分布等方法,可以分析皖江城市带各城市的综合实力,确定各自的吸引范围,讨论对南京对皖江城市带吸引范围的影响,阐述吸引范围同行政区域的关联性和差异,并对不同区域下的城市发展策略选择提供相关的对策建议。     

Bitcoin and entrepreneurship: breaking the network effect

This paper explores the question of whether the market process is capable of bringing about a spontaneous monetary switch to a new currency in the presence of strong network effects of the incumbent currency as well as the absence of contingencies such as extreme inflation or political instability. It does so by examining current happenings around Bitcoin. It finds that two mechanisms stand out: the coordinating efforts of the profit-maximizing entrepreneur as well as the ability to use the old and the new currency simultaneously. Specifically, it finds that marginal decisions made by rational agents merely seeking to maximize net private benefit irrespective of the network effect, be it entrepreneurs or users of the new currency, are capable of setting in motion a switch to a new currency. Whether or not these mechanisms play out fully in the case of Bitcoin still remains to be seen.

Public debt rule breaking by time-inconsistent voters

This study considers how present-biased preferences influence public debt policy when a violation of debt rules is possible. To address this issue, the study extends the framework of Bisin, Lizzeri, and Yariv (American Economic Review 105, (2015), 1711–1737) by allowing for rule breaking with extra costs; we show that rule breaking occurs when a country exhibits a strong present bias. We further extend the model by introducing a political process for determining the debt rule, and we show that a polarization of debt rules emerges between countries with high and low degrees of present bias.

The growth of point source plumes at Rayleigh numbers up to 108 and Prandtl numbers up to 1000

Two-dimensional numerical simulations were conducted of the growth of thermal plumes from a point heat source at Rayleigh numbers up to 108 and Prandtl numbers up to 1000. Scaling the convection equations by the free fall velocity rather than the thermal diffusivity, increased the Prandtl number range available to numerical simulation by one order of magnitude from Prandtl number 100 to 1000. We present animations showing how the plumes grow with time for different Prandtl numbers. Plumes with Prandtl numbers around 7 (water) were found to be unstable to sinuous instabilities; whereas those at Prandtl numbers of 1000 had straight stems and fewer sinuous instabilities. Wavelet analysis was used to analyze the scales at which plumes initiated, and the scales at which sinuous instabilities occurred. The scale of both the plume structures and instabilities was found to decrease with Prandtl number.

Monotonicity of bargaining solutions with respect to the disagreement point

We investigate whether the best known solutions to the bargaining problem respond appropriately to certain changes in the disagreement point d, for a fixed feasible set. If d_i increases, while for each j ≠ i, d_j remains constant, then these solutions recommend an increase in agent i's payoff, in agreement with intuition. However, the stronger requirement that agent i be the only one to gain is not generally met.

The upper turning point in the Austrian business cycle theory

This paper defends the relevance of Austrian Business Cycle theory (ABCT) within a fiat money regime, by providing an answer to whether a constant rate of credit expansion necessarily leads to a boom-bust cycle. We claim that this scenario has two potential outcomes, (1) a change in money demand brings the economy back towards equilibrium or (2) the economy will shift to a sub-optimal but still sustainable path. We identify capital heterogeneity effects and the Ricardo effect as distinctly Austrian explanations for an upper turning point, even in a fiat money regime.

Comparative statics in the large based on a fixed point algorithm

The purpose of this paper is to present a theorem on comparative statics in the large by making use of theorems on a fixed point algorithm, and also to show its economic applications focused on Hicksian laws. We provide a unified approach to comparative statics in the large, and obtain laws of demand globally valid for generalized gross-substitute systems.
