Curbing Industrial Overcapacity？

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China launched a new study examining the impact and influence of industrial overcapacity in China on November 26, 2009. Entitled Overcapacity in China： Causes, Impacts and Recommendations.

DrKW Got Permission for Financial Derivation Business

German Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein(DrKW) an-nounced, China Banking Regulatory Commission has approved the application submitted by DrKW, Shanghai Branch, for running the financial derivation business with the institutions and investors in China. This is another permit DrKW has got since it obtained the QFII qualification in China in September 2004. This permit makes DrKW become one of the first foreign banks, which are permitted to run the financial derivation business in China. At present, only those foreign banks with branches in China have the qualification to apply for the license for running the financial derivation business in China.

The Competitiveness of ＂Made in China＂
China＇s annual imports and exports of goods exceeded USD4tn for the first time in 2013 and made China the largest trading nation around the world. However, the overall foreign trade competitiveness of China＇s industries declined this year. The shift in the trading pecking order reflected China＇s rising global dominance, and the falling competitiveness may be the reflection of the slowdown in economic growth.     

Chile：Close Tie between China and Latin America

Chile was the first country in South America to establish a diplomatic relationship with China more than 38 years ago.Since then,with the bilateral free trade agreement in place,Chile has become China＇s second-largest trading partner in Latin America,and China is currently Chile＇s largest trading partner in the world.In April of 2008,China and Chile signed the Supplementary Agreement on Trade in Services of the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the People＇s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Chile in Sanya, Hainan province.This was a historical milestone marking the longstanding relationship between China and Chile.To learn more about this bilateral relationship,China＇s Foreign Trade invited Mr.Mario I.Artaza,Director Commercial Office Trade Representative at the Beijing Embassy of Chile in China,to give us his point of view on the current business and economic environment that exists between these two countries.

American Companies Show More Confidence in Business Outlook in China

According to the 2021 White Paper on the Business Environment(hereinafter referred to as the survey)in China recently released by the American Chamber of Commerce in South China,94%of participating companies remain optimistic towards the business outlook in China.No company showed willingness to completely shift away from China.
