中国学生英语动词使用错误研究——基于语料库的实证研究

在中国学习者英语语料库中,动词错误率达到15.1％,是名词错误率的两倍（8.34％）之多,居各类词汇错误之首.鉴于此,在错误分析理论的指导下作者对中国学习者英语语料库中的动词错误展开了实证研究.研究的结论将有助于英语动词教学的实行.

美国独立后,诺阿.韦伯斯特尝试将美国英语与英国英语区分开,他的词典及其它作品对英语尤其是美式英语产生了长远的影响。     

基于就业导向的国际贸易专业英语课堂教学模式探讨

随着改革开放的深入和中国加入WTO,社会越来需要要既具备国贸专业知识,又能运用流利的英语与外界交往的高素质人才。在当前就业形势日趋严峻的情况下,提高国际贸易专业毕业生的专业英语素质,不但能提高其就业竞争力,而且能为我国经济与社会发展提供强有力的人才支持和智力保证。要应对挑战,当前国际贸易专业英语教育改革就应当与市场需求接轨、以就业为导向,并在此基础上提出国际贸易专业英语课堂教学模式的构想。     

高校英语教师信念调查与分析

教师信念是教师对教育、教学、学习及学生相关概念的看法。英语教师信念在提高英语教学质量、推进大学英语教学改革及教师自身发展等方面有着重要意义。当前,为培养学生的英语综合应用能力、使学生能用英语有效进行交流,高校全面推行大学英语教学改革。为了解大学英语教师信念的当前状况、检视大学英语教师所持信念是否符合大学英语教学改革的基本要求,笔者对内蒙古工业大学的大学英语教师进行了一项问卷调查。调查结果显示:英语教师所持信念总体上符合我国大学英语教学改革所倡导的交际型英语教学;同时,鉴于学生的具体情况,大部分教师并未摒弃传统的语法教学;教师信念主要来源于反复教学实践、学生反馈和课后反思。基于调查结果笔者建议广大英语教师从多种渠道获取先进的教师信念,以促进自身的教学实践、专业发展和进一步推进大学英语教学改革。     

王权图腾化:政教合一的中国政治文化传统——读杨阳《王权图腾化——政教合一与中国社会》有感

中国传统文化之基本精神,不是脱离中国传统社会结构和历史情境,单纯从某些思想家的思想及相关思想典籍中归纳总结出的观念性概念。中国传统文化必须既是其社会结构、生活样式和政治体制的反映,还必须是上到君主,下到黎民百姓内心的情感、价值和信仰世界的表达。儒学正是在中国乡土村落社会结构之上建立了王权与村落共同体之间的共同价值,通过宗教人伦政治化和政治宗教人伦化,实现王权的宗教人伦化,而成为中国政教合一文化的"图腾"。     

从跨文化角度谈英语谚语的翻译

每一则谚语背后都隐含有其民族文化的内容,在跨文化的视野下分析探讨英语谚语的汉译,必须在搞懂弄通英汉两种语言文化背景的基础上,吃透英汉谚语的文化内涵、民族特征,应用一定的翻译技巧——以直译为主的方法和以意译为主的方法,力求减少信息失真,尽量达到信息对等,让译文读者享受到与原文读者一样的信息,使跨越英汉两种文化的交际得以顺利开展,实现跨文化交际的最终目标。     

功能对等理论指导下的商务英语翻译

本文将功能对等理论应用到商务英语翻译实践中。作者首先阐述了奈达的功能对等翻译理论,然后从词汇、句子及篇章三个层面分析商务英语的文体特点。最后基于商务英语独特的特点,作者试图将功能对等理论应用到商务英语翻译中,进而得出商务英语翻译的策略——归化翻译策略。同时文章提出了运用归化策略进行商务英语翻译时要遵循的三条原则。     

日语自他动词与态相关的误用分析

日语自他动词是日语语法中的一个难点,尤其在和其他语态相关联时使用起来更加有难度.以汉语为母语的日语学习者,常常按照汉语思维习惯去套用日语,出现误用现象.本文从自他动词与被动表现、使役表现和可能表现相关的误用三方面入手,归纳总结中国的日语学习者常见的错误,并从社会文化心理方面探讨产生这些误用的原因,以期帮助中国学生解决有关母语干涉的问题.     

Beyond cheap talk: management's informative tone in corporate disclosures

This study investigates the information content of Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) reports of listed Chinese companies. We develop a Chinese word dictionary and measure the tones of MD&As. Our results indicate that tone is positively associated with future earnings and is particularly useful when a firm's future prospect is uncertain, accounting information is difficult to understand, or board monitoring is strong. Further analyses show that tone also predicts future cash flow, future sales growth, market reactions, analysts’ revisions, and institutional investors’ shareholdings. Together, we provide robust evidence that in emerging markets such as China, management tone conveys valuable information beyond cheap talk.     

非英语专业大学英语教学中本土文化与目的语文化的碰撞

本文分析了大学英语教学中文化教学的现状：西方文化的输入和中国文化缺失,并就此提出了在英语教学中融入中国传统文化的重要性和必要性,以此来实现大学英语教学中中国文化和西方文化的融合。这样既可以深刻的了解西方的文化,又可以深刻的理解中国文化,更可以把中国优秀的文化用英语传播出去。     

How plain English use affects the length of annual reports: Evidence from the annual reports of foreign firms listed on the US stock exchange

This study examines the impacts of plain English on the length of annual reports for the sample of 20-F forms which are annually filed by foreign firms listed on NYSE and NASDAQ. We found out that foreign firms have better complied with plain English in their disclosures over time with shorter sentences, less jargon, and readable writing styles; however, there was a significant increase in the length of 20-F from 2004 to 2013. We also recognize the impacts of plain English on the length of annual reports are mixed. The issuers may completely improve the readability of annual reports without significantly increasing the length of annual reports if they sophisticatedly combine all four elements of plain English in their disclosures. Additionally, the usage of passive voice and jargon in firms’ disclosures negatively influences the liquidity of stocks. There are significant differences in behaviors of issuing annual reports among countries. After the financial crisis in 2009, annual reports become longer and less readable.     

Does IFRS Adoption Increase the Accuracy of Chinese Analysts’ Forecasts?

This article investigates the impact of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) adoption on the accuracy of Chinese analysts’ earnings forecasts. We find that after IFRS adoption, the accuracy of Chinese analysts’ forecasts decreases rather than increasing as they do in developed countries documented by the extant literature. Further investigation finds that this decrease is associated with a fair value measurement of financial assets held for trading. Our finding provides empirical evidence supporting the argument that the effectiveness of IFRS adoption could be negative in a developing country depending on its setting and fair value measurement brought about by IFRS could contribute to the negative effect in this setting.     

The financing behaviour of listed Chinese firms

This paper examines the corporate financing behaviour of listed companies in the People's Republic of China. Our results suggest that some determinants of firm leverage (e.g., size, asset tangibility, growth opportunities and profitability) commonly cited in studies on developed economies also appear to be important in China. In particular, the positive relationships that firm size and asset tangibility have with firm leverage are consistent with the predictions of the static trade-off capital structure model. However, these commonly quoted determinants function in a way different from that reported in developing countries. Moreover, we do not find that State ownership, legal person ownership and foreign ownership have important influences on the capital structure choices of Chinese firms. Given the tight regulatory control over equity issues and acute owner–manager incentive conflicts in State-owned firms, we also hypothesise, and find evidence to support, that Chinese firms have built-in incentives for raising equity. This provides one explanation of the negative effect of profitability on firm leverage and shows that some of the unique Chinese institutional features do help shape corporate financing behaviour.

《中图法》第五版在社科类文献分类的划分标准主要以文献的内容属性为标准。在以地区、人物、时间为分类标准时是有规律可循的。本文在梳理《中图法》第五版分类方法有规律可循的基础上,分析了其具体应用过程中可能存在的局限性,并提出了改进建议。     

Government accounting with Chinese characteristics and challenges

This paper explains the Chinese government's decision to adopt accrual accounting by referring to an ancient Chinese strategy of governing. It also provides a rationale for whole-of-government financial reports in China's current fiscal context. The nature of the existing government accounting system is described and the technical and implementation challenges in achieving the goals of the ambitious reform agenda are identified. The country's unique institutional structure makes it necessary to craft a system of government accounting and reporting with Chinese characteristics.     

Corporate Governance and Investor Reaction to Reported Earnings: An Exploratory Study of Listed Chinese Companies

This study explores the determinants of listed Chinese companies’ governance practices. It also examines how these companies’ governance practices affect domestic investors’ reaction to their earnings reports. Using publicly disclosed financial information and data directly collected from 148 domestically listed Chinese companies, the findings are consistent with investors in these companies basing their valuation decisions, at least in part, on these companies’ earnings reports. This is indicated by the significant relationship between “unexpected” earnings and cumulative abnormal returns. However, the hypothesized effects of governance practice/choice are, on the whole, not supported. There also is no systematic relation between governance choice and ownership structure. We interpret these findings to imply that in the Chinese securities market, the institutional factors and infrastructure (e.g., legal liability, information intermediation, market for managers, and takeovers) are not yet sufficiently developed to permit individual domestic investors to exert significant influence via their actions in the capital markets.

自从我们国家进入世界贸易组织已经快十年了,这十年来我们国家的经济高速发展,这样就需要有能够在交易双方之间可以架起桥梁的商务英语专业人员,通过专业人员运用自己的专业技巧来实现自己的专业价值。本文通过对于商务英语实际运用阶段所需要注意的问题作了简要的论述并提出了自己的看法。     

“I just like the stock”: The role of Reddit sentiment in the GameStop share rally

This paper investigates the role played by the social media platform Reddit in the events around the GameStop (GME) share rally in early 2021. In particular, we analyze the impact of discussions on the r/WallStreetBets subreddit on the price dynamics of the American online retailer GameStop. We customize a sentiment analysis dictionary for Reddit platform users based on the Valence Aware Dictionary and Sentiment Reasoner (VADER) sentiment analysis package and perform textual analysis on 10.8 million comments. The analysis of the relationships between Reddit sentiments and 1-, 5-, 10-, and 30-min GameStop returns contribute to the growing body of literature on “meme stocks” and the impact of discussions on investment forums on intraday stock price movements.     

Review and Assessment of Chinese Energy Policy Since the Reform and Opening Up

Since carrying out reforms and launching its “opening up” policy in the late 1970s, the Chinese government has issued a series of energy policies that has increased China’s total energy supply, optimized the energy structure, and improved energy efficiency. China’s total energy supply increased from 627.7 million tons of standard coal equivalent to 3.2 billion tons from 1978 to 2011, an average annual growth rate of 5 percent. The structure of China’s energy supply is improving gradually, with natural gas accounting for 4.3 percent of the total energy production in 2011 compared to 2.9 percent in 1978. The proportion of hydroelectric, nuclear, and wind power increased from 3.1 percent in 1978 to 8.8 percent in 2011. China’s energy efficiency continues to improve, with the amount of standard coal equivalent required to produce RMB 10,000 of gross domestic product decreasing from 15.68 tons in 1978 to 0.74 in 2011. The development of China’s energy structure not only has guaranteed national economic and social development but has also made a great contribution to world energy security.
