When China＇s status of great economic country has been recognized, the proposal of uniting the domestic and foreign enterprises＇ income taxes into one has been put on the agenda. Hot discussion has been triggered on this overture because the interests of different sides will be affected by the reform if it is launched. The article analyzes the setback of the current system of seperating the two taxes and puts forward the idea that the unity of Two Taxes is unavoidably to be conducted because it will be benefit for China＇s reality, and be in line with international economic regulation.

Quality Marks, Metrics, and Measurement Procedures for Business Process Models

The availability of high-quality business process models is a central prerequisite for a successful process management. Nevertheless, in practice process models exhibit a large number of quality deficits, among them grammatical, content-related, and stylistic defects. In addition, there exist only very few approaches to determine the quality of business process models. In this paper, we present the 3QM-Framework, an analytical approach to systematically determine the quality of business process models. The 3QM-Framework makes three contributions: it provides quality marks, metrics, and measurement procedures to quantify the quality level as elements of a theoretically justified quality model. The applicability of the 3QM-Framework has been empirically evaluated in case studies. The results of a survey that was conducted among experts moreover attest its practical relevance.

Better Living: Toward a Cultural History of a Business Slogan

This article traces the migration of the slogan "better living"from its inception in 1935 as an attempt to clean up the corporateimage of Du Pont, through its dissemination into the buildingtrades and architecture during and after World War II, and finallyinto urban planning in the postwar decades. These fields borrowedthe phrase back and forth in their promotional literature inorder to serve their own, often clashing agendas—one strandof the larger contest between the forces of free enterpriseand those of centralized planning and reform. The essay aimsto bring together aspects of business, architecture, and planningin order to explore the fertile cultural milieu these differentfields shared in the middle decades of the twentieth century.

Quality of International Business Journals

It is fairly common practice for researchers to ascertain the quality of journals in a field by surveying a select audience in that field for their perceptions. This research methodology has been criticized because respondents may not evaluate each journal within the framework of all journals in that area. Also, even when each journal is evaluated within the framework of all journals in a functional area, respondents may evaluate journals based on their perceptions of the im ortance of specialty areas within the discipline. The objective of this article is to determine if there are significant differences in perceived quality of international business journalsnbased on areas of research interest and whether such differences are systematic.     

Communication Quality in Business Negotiations

The quality of a business negotiation process is usually assessed by its economic outcome, e.g. in terms of Pareto efficiency or distance to Nash equilibrium. We argue that this assessment method is insufficient in that it fails to provide a comprehensive analysis of business negotiations. Negotiators engage in highly complex communication tasks, and these communication processes should be analysed along with the outcome in the overall evaluation of a business negotiation. To this end, we will introduce Communication Quality as a new construct for analyzing the negotiation process. Furthermore, it will be argued that Communication Quality itself can affect economic negotiation outcomes both short- and long-term. We will present relevant aspects of Communication Quality, outline a scheme for its operationalisation and measurement, and discuss its probable impacts on business negotiations.
