Survey on Current Conditions of and Intention for Outbound Investment by Chinese Enterprises （Part I）

After two preliminary trials in 2005 and 2006, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade （CCPIT） conducted the ＂Survey on Current Conditions of and Intention for Outbound Investment by Chinese Enterprises＂ from December of 2008 to February of 2009. We standardized the samples and enlarged the scale to present an in-depth landscape of the current conditions of and intention for outbound investment by Chinese enterprises as China adopts the ＂＇Going Global＂ strategy to encourage outbound investment, and the development of outbound investment by comparing the results of this survey and the previous two surveys. This survey was also intended to find out Chinese enterprises＇ opinions on and demand for the ＂Going Global＂ policies and service system adopted by the Chinese government.

Executive Summary

Austrian Federal President Heinz Fischer on January 22 .unveiled the Chinese characters ＂奥地利＂ （Austria）representing the Austria Pavilion during his visit to the pavilion. He also left his handprint together with Hannes Androsch, the commissioner general of Austria for Expo 2010, Wu Ken, Chinese Ambassador to Austria, and Huang Jianzhi, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.     

Gamble on the Russian Market——How Far is the ＂White Customs Clearance＂？

On August 31 at the ＂Sino- Russian Trade＂ news conference, Sun Yongfu, DirectorGeneral of the Department of European Affairs at the PRC Ministry of Commerce, announced that, the problems regarding the collapse of ＇Cherkizovsky＇ have not been fundamentally solved. About 95% of Chinese products have been shipped out, while the remaining 5% were expected to be cleared out before the middle of September. According to the China General Chamber of Commerce in Russia, the case involves tens of thousands Chinese companies, and approximately 15,000 containers worth about US$5 billion.

China drafts strategies to boost auto and auto parts exports

The Chinese government has drafted a series of measures to revive flagging exports of autos and auto pans made by domestic companies, The National Development and Rcform Commission, the central economic planning agency, released the policy of ＂Directives on Promoting the Healthy and Sustainable Growth of Domesticallymade Auto Products＂ in Deccmbcr 2009.     

China says U,S. move on imported Chinese-made fastener ＂rational＂

The U.S. rejection of an anti-dumping inquiry against China-made steel fasteners was ＂rational＂, a Chinese commerce official said on November 9. An unnamed official of the Ministry of Commerce （MOC） said the move by the United States International Trade Commission （ITC） accorded with ＂market reality＂ and was ＂correct＂, as the products made by both countries had different target consumers, which would not encounter direct competition.
