企业家战略执行能力无疑是决定企业战略执行绩效的重要因素之一.对204位中小民营企业家的实证研究表明,企业家战略执行能力及其三个维度都对企业的战略执行绩效有显著的正向影响,这三个维度对企业的战略执行绩效的作用强度从大到小依次为建立战略共识能力、实施战略控制能力和推动战略协同能力,企业家战略执行能力存在短缺的维度数量越多.企业战略执行绩效的下降程度越大.因此,企业家通过改善其战略执行能力的三个维度可以有效提升企业战略执行绩效;改善的先后顺序依次为建立战略共识能力、实施战略控制能力和推动战略协同能力;同时改善的存在短缺的维度数量越多越有利于企业战略执行绩效的改善.  相似文献

对于战略和执行,孰轻孰重的争论是没有意义的。任何将战略和执行彼此分裂开来进行优化的理论或工具,都可能带来灾难性的后果。只重战略,忽略执行,就是在建设没有基础的空中楼阁;而只重执行,忽略战略,不过是在搭建永远无法达到登天目标的巴别塔。 博意门咨询公司的调查结果显示,即使是那些明白战略重要性的企业,也几乎没有人负责战略执行管理。并不是战略制定好了,企业就能够按照战略设想的轨迹前进。目前中国的战略执行完全处于一种天然的状态,领导者或许明白执行对战略成功的重要,但组织中却没有一个专门的部门或团队来协调所有将战略化为行动的工作。大多数中国企业都缺少一个清晰、持续的战略管理系统。 卡普兰和诺顿的研究揭示出:平均来说,一家公司中有95%的员工不清楚或不了解本公司的战略。如果连与客户接触最密切的一线员工以及那些在企业创造价值的关键流程中的员工都不了解公司战略,他们自然无法有效地执行战略,战略制定与战略实施之间因而产生了巨大的鸿沟。 “如果不能描述,那么你就不能量度,而如果不能量度,那么你就不能管理。”无法进行管理的战略,只能是一种经营畅想,所谓执行其实就是对战略的切实管理。 为了帮助管理者们实现度量战略、管理战略,卡普兰和诺顿发明了战略地图和平衡计分卡来“将战略转化为可操作语言”。对于希望成功实施战略的中国企业来说,运用这些工具,他们能够清晰地描述战略,合理地评价战略,并有效地管理战略,三者合一,为企业构建了一个完整的战略执行管理系统。  相似文献

现有的战略研究相对忽视关于企业战略执行策略及其绩效含义的深入分析。根据资源基础观和能力基础观,战略执行策略是连结战略规划与组织产出的重要组织过程和行为模式,其有效运用是企业获取和维持竞争优势的关键途径。在现有研究基础上,文章系统地探讨了战略执行策略、环境不确定性和战略执行绩效的关系。对249家中小民营企业的实证研究表明,文化型策略对战略执行绩效有显著的正向影响,环境不确定性对参与型策略与战略执行绩效的关系起调节作用。因此,推广文化型策略以及在不确定性高的环境下运用参与型策略都是提升中小民营企业战略执行绩效的重要途径。  相似文献

Multinational corporations (MNCs) are continuing to invest more in expanding into new markets around the world. These firms are faced with determining the optimal go-to-market strategy in these heterogeneous new markets to attract and retain profitable customers. This paper provides an organizing framework to help firms develop profitable customer-level strategies across countries in the digital environment. We start by providing a summary of the marketing literature on a customer-based execution strategy. Next, we discuss how the evolving digital landscape is affecting firms’ relationships with customers and describe some of the current digital product and process innovations in the marketplace. We discuss boundary conditions for how these digital product and process innovations might affect profitable customer strategies in a global context. In addition, we discuss implementation challenges that MNCs will likely face in deploying these customer-level strategies and other stakeholders (outside of customers) that will likely play a role in the execution of these customer-level strategies. Finally, we summarize set of research questions to guide future research on customer-level strategies in a global digital context.  相似文献

Based on R&D investment data from Chinese listed manufacturing firms, this paper examines the effect of R&D spending on firms’ future performance conditional on their strategic positions. We find that firms pursing a product differentiation strategy have more R&D spending than those with a cost leadership strategy. In addition, we document a positive effect of R&D spending on firms’ future performance if they adopt a product differentiation strategy. Meanwhile, for the firms that adopt a cost leadership strategy, the relationship between R&D spending and firm performance resembles an inversed U-shape. Furthermore, we find this inversed U-shape relationship only exists for non-state-owned firms. Overall, this paper provides guidance and useful suggestions on the efficient allocation of R&D resources for Chinese manufacturing firms.  相似文献

The role of various organizational pressures in influencing performance of firms has been an interesting research topic in a variety of fields and has received the attention of researchers working in the field of environmental strategy. Although there are previous studies that have looked at the influence of various pressures in influencing firms’ environmental strategies, our study provides a more holistic analysis considering a variety of such pressures in a single framework. We discuss a research study to analyze how pressures from internal and external stakeholders of a firm, economic pressures, environmental regulations, and pressures of environmental compliance have affected environmental performance of firms using data collected from manufacturing firms in the United Kingdom. We have found that internal stakeholders provide the greatest impact in shaping environmental performance of firms, closely followed by economic pressures, environmental regulations, and external stakeholders in that order. Fears of penalties due to environmental compliance have the least impact, although this pressure also has a positive and significant impact on environmental performance.  相似文献

Conventional IB theories stress the importance and implications of a firm's exploitative strategy. However, the unprecedented competitive nature of contemporary business necessitates firm “ambidexterity” — the simultaneous execution of exploitation and exploration activities. Using balanced panel data of 207 Taiwanese firms spanning six years, this research examines the effects of international ambidexterity on firm performance. Findings reveal that ambidexterity promotes a firm's performance. For firms from small emerging economies, international ambidexterity is highly vulnerable to environmental complexity and sensitive to previous international experience and the firm's capability to conduct international business. These factors significantly moderate firm performance.  相似文献

Although technology profile has been one of the key determinants of firms’ export performance in the international business literature, most research has focused on only the role of internal technology efforts rather than the role of external technology. This study thus aims to extend our understanding of the determinants of export performance by examining the impact of the inter-organizational dimension of innovation strategy to export performance, which has been ignored in the prevailing “strategy tripod” perspective of exporting research. This study is based on a sample of 141 Chinese indigenous manufacturing firms that engaged in inward technology licensing between 2000 and 2003. The empirical results indicate that external technology acquisitions positively influence Chinese firms’ export performance. Moreover the exporting performance of using external technology varies depending on the their sources (domestic and foreign). The exporting firms that acquired technology from foreign countries outperformed those relied on domestically developed technology.  相似文献

We examine the effects of home country institutional factors, namely, home country government support, domestic institutional weaknesses, and state ownership on the subsidiary-level strategy of global integration (I) and local responsiveness (R) of emerging market multinational enterprises (EMNEs). We draw upon the home country institution-based view and the I/R framework to develop our theoretical model. We empirically test our hypotheses using an original new survey data collected from Chinese multinational subsidiary managers supplemented with parent-level and country-level data. We find that home country government support and domestic institutional weaknesses have significant and negative effects on global integration strategy of Chinese multinational subsidiaries. On the other hand, domestic institutional weaknesses push foreign subsidiaries to pursue local responsiveness strategy. Nevertheless, those with greater degree of state ownership in their parent firms are neither willing to disintegrate from their parent firms nor motivated to pursue local responsiveness strategy in order to deal with home country institutional deficiencies and develop new sources of competitiveness in foreign markets. Our findings have advanced the literature on subsidiary strategy in the context of EMNEs, and provide important implications for subsidiary managers and policy makers.  相似文献

Chinese firms are internationalizing at an unprecedented speed. One profound phenomenon linked to this active Chinese firms internationalization process is that the process tends to be confronted with negative media coverage of China and Chinese firms in Western countries. How to understand and cope with the negative image of China and Chinese firms, as they are often seen in the Western media, emerges as a relevant and timely research topic in the study of the internationalization of Chinese firms. The purpose of this article is to stimulate ideas for further research on the relations between the internationalization of Chinese firms and the media coverage. We use the case of Geely's acquisition of Volvo Cars, which was to a large extent negatively reported in the Swedish media during 2008–2013, as inspiration to identify the interesting research themes and questions. Given the increasing anti‐globalization trend, we hypothesize that Chinese firms will have to face up to the reality of negative media coverage in many Western countries for the foreseeable future, at least in the firms’ initial establishment phases.
