将汇率冲击、贸易壁垒与"诱发性"对外直接投资置于一个理论框架下,揭示其间的诱发机制与综合传导路径,得出结论如下:跨越贸易壁垒是诱发企业对外投资行为的重要动因,汇率对直接投资流出可能具有"双向性"作用;在遭遇东道国反倾销威胁时,市场规模对企业对外投资的"跨越"动机起到制约作用;企业拥有的成本优势越具备"可转移"特征,越容易"诱发"对外直接投资的形成;行业内产品差异化程度越高,则越能"诱发"企业从事对外投资。  相似文献

本文认为,“效率优先”是社会主义市场经济的必然要求,应成为我国经济工作一项有指导意义的原则。文章提出,采用“效率优先,增进公平”的提法更为适宜,它既宣示社会主义市场经济为改革的取向,又鲜明地以因果关系把“效率优先”和“增进公平”二者联系在一起,不仅看到市场经济的缺陷,承认经济发展中会有差距,而且表明要靠提高效率来“增进公平”,缩小差距。没有“效率优先”,不用市场竞争机制来发展经济,不把“蛋糕”做大,则“增进公平”就成为“无源之水”;而“增进公平”应是“效率优先”的目标和归宿,体现了以人为本、促进社会和谐的社会主义理念与原则。  相似文献

我国与西方国家的治税理念是截然不同的,主要表现在“国家本位观”与“纳税人本位观”以及“人治”观与“法治”观的差异上。在我国社会主义市场经济的初步建立和发展的背景下,在构建成的公共财政基本框架下,借鉴西方国家的治税理念,应确立以“社会公众的税收”理念为灵魂,以“保护纳税人权利、服务纳税人”和“税收法治”的理念为本质特征的我国自己的“公共税收”治税理念。  相似文献

瓦格纳认为随着现代工业社会的发展,“对社会进步的政治压力”的增大,以及在工业化经营方面因“社会考虑”会要求增加政府财政支出。瓦格纳法则在我国是否成立决定我国政府提高“两个比重”的措施是否合理。文章在ADF检验和Johansen协整检验的基础之上,利用Hsiao逐步Granger因果检验法,对瓦格纳法则在中国的适用性进行检验。结果显示虽然国民收入与财政支出间并不存在长期均衡关系,但是瓦格纳法则在中国成立。同时在政府地位扩张时,要合理确立政府的规模,并严肃对待长期财政赤字问题。  相似文献

“日落复审”条款在一些国家的反倾销、反补贴立法中还是比较新的内容,各个国家的具体规定也不尽相同。随着经济全球化的深入发展,国家间的竞争日趋激烈,中国需要采取更有效的措施来应对国外不公平竞争的冲击,而重视和利用“日落复审”则是我们要坚持的一项重要原则。因此,我们一方面要对各国的“日落复审”条款进行仔细的研究,另二方面要结合中国的实际情况找出应对策略,以此指导中国的反倾销实践。  相似文献

This paper discusses the interpretative benefits that arise from merging the Dirichlet-multinomial (DM) model as a loyalty variable in the multinomial logit (MNL) model of brand choice. The estimated parameters of this hybrid model compare favorably to those of a pure DM model (with no marketing mix variables) as well as those of a standard MNL model with an exponentially smoothed loyalty measure. The hybrid model offers an index of consumer heterogeneity and estimates of each brand's preference share, adjusted for the effects of price and promotional activities. We illustrate the unique interpretations offered by these parameters across four different product categories, showing how changes in heterogeneity (across categories or model specifications) are closely related to changes in the overall impact of marketing mix variables.The author is grateful to Bruce Hardie, Barbara Kahn, Jim Lattin, Len Lodish, Bob Meyer, and Don Morrison for their comments and suggestions. Excellent marketing has always emanated from a deep understanding of consumer needs and expectations, combined with their right to be informed, protected and their right to quality of life. Evidence for this fundamental bedrock of marketing is provided. The problem is that in 2009 "marketing" just doesn't mean "good marketing", or even "honest marketing" and is widely seen as "mismarketing" in practice, largely the result of marketing's demotion to promotion and puffery. Evidence is provided for this view. The paper then makes some suggestions about possible new initiatives/directions for the discipline. These are:

? the name marketing itself

? making the discipline truly professional

? making marketing fully accountable for its expenditure

The accountability issue, however, is, in the author's view, the principal way to rescue the discipline from demise, so the bulk of the paper concerns this issue and sets out an agenda for research.  相似文献

No Bosses Here: Management in Worker Co-operatives examines the worker co-op structure as a workplace option for women. The appeal of the model for women is described in terms of the opportunity for skill development and control over workplace conditions. The structure also presents some unique challenges for training since all members participate in management functions. The author describes a six-month course, Co-operative Employment for Women which trained women in co-operative business development.Melanie Conn has worked extensively in the feminist movement since 1971 when she was a founding member of the Vancouver Women's Health Collective. She has also participated in a number of co-op sector activities including a women's contruction co-op. The business world is not a separate universe of economic values and goals distinct from society, but an aspect of the behaviour of society as a whole. Ethics cannot be a cosmetic applied to established practice in the business world, a mere restraint on the unsocial or criminal behaviour of managers or a pragmatic response to consumer pressure. The author argues for a Total Ethics concept analogous to Zero Defects concepts in operations management. This ethic should form the foundation of the organisation's mission and permeate its statements of business objectives. If the ethic is to serve the common good of all who have an interest in the business, then all the stakeholders, not just those with a financial interest, must contribute to the business objectives and exercise some control.The author is External Affairs Director of Traidcraft Plc, a publicly owned £5 million turnover company in the north-east of England, committed to promoting just trade with poor producers in developing countries. Before joining Traidcraft in 1985, the author worked for six years with the Intermediate Technology Development Group involving extensive travel to developing countries advising on appropriate technology and village industry development. This study explores how perceptions, experience, attitudes, communication behavior and environment affect continued and discontinued use of a group support system (GSS) as an organizational innovation. The case study method was used to investigate the largely unexplored process of GSS adoption and diffusion in terms of human factors, internal organizational context, external organizational environment and GSS management activities. Analysis of data collected in 25 in-depth interviews with informants who had voluntarily adopted GSS for use in one or more meetings they initiated, suggests GSS diffusion is a complex process. The author concluded the most significant determinants of initial adoption was support of a champion, while the presence of an intra-departmental champion and a well-rounded GSS infrastructure strongly influenced continued use. Lack of task-technology fit and perception of GSS as a large group tool strongly influenced discontinued use. The surprising finding that intentions to use GSS were the same for continued and discontinued users, led to the conclusion that some discontinued users are in reality stalled users who should not be classified as rejecters of the technology.These research findings have important implications for devising strategies for the effective introduction and assimilation of GSS and other information system technologies, and point to the need for continued support throughout the different stages of the diffusion process.  相似文献

The determinants of productivity-enhancing micro-level restructuring are examined empirically with a panel of the twelve Finnish manufacturing industries. It is hypothesized that R&D leads to productivity diversity among plants, which in turn leads to the gradual reshuffling of input shares in the presence of dynamic competitive pressure. The effect of the creative destruction on industry productivity growth is measured with the between-component of productivity decomposition. Econometric results indicate with reasonable robustness that R&D generates creative destruction with a lag of several years. The thesis of this paper is that corporate activity can best be understood on analogy with the acitivity of persons. The ground for this analogy lies in the nature of activity itself which is common to both and to find a ground therein an analysis of the features of activity is presented based upon a comparison of activity and process by Alburey Castell. Activity is said to be bi-polar with one pole the purpose or goal to be handled in utilitarean fashion and the other pole concerned with the maintenance of the presuppositions of activity.While any goal chosen will have hypothetical oughts as its conditions, it is argued that the presuppositions of activity are categorical oughts in that they cannot be denied without asserting them. And since one of these presuppositions is freedom of choice, thus giving activity the power to destroy its own possibility, these presuppositions function in the context of practice as categorical norms and are universal in their applicability as preserving the possibility of responsible activity for everyone else as well as myself. All activity whether it be other-regarding or self-regarding (self-interest in the business world) is subject to the norms of its own possibility, its enabling conditions, and this constitutes the moral ground for personal, managerial and a basis for inquiry into corporate responsibility.All of these ideas are put forth within the wider context of the problem of corporate legitimacy and constitute a prolegomena to it.  相似文献

The concept of the "unlevel playing field" is critiqued for its tendency to take the prevailing masculinist managerial paradigm for granted. Rather than assume that both men and women should assimilate to corporate masculinity, feminist alternatives are suggested. The pervasiveness of the masculine ethic and the "myth of meritocracy" in organizations are reviewed, with the space shuttle Challenger disaster serving as a focal point to demonstrate the dysfunctionality of masculine management and the rationale for feminist-based organizational transformation to promote not only gender equity, but more effective and ethical organizational behavior.  相似文献

The paper's broad aim is to provide a wider understanding of a complex virtue, "meekness". This interest is pragmatic. Contemporary research by Collins (2001) has identified "meekness" as a personal quality for highest-level leadership at great businesses, a theme identifiable also in religious and ancient philosophical narratives. Two strands of enquiry are pursued. Firstly, features of "meekness" are inferred by reference to Plato, Aristotle and Xenophon, as also to the gospel writer, Matthew, source of the title's quotation. It concludes that "meekness" is not about powers foregone but "powers controlled and exercised with discernment". The second strand addresses whether there are intrinsic differences between the ethics of business and religious activities. Narrative of a New Testament incident, apparently condemning traders, is briefly explored as a case study. Closer examination points how an inappropriate fusing of regulatory and commercial roles had created market abuses. The timeless account warns against inadequately controlled powers and provides an enduring example of how "the meek" should respond assertively against unethical conduct and avoid it themselves. While the paper acknowledges that there may be distinctive "guardian" and "commercial" syndromes for ethical prioritisation, a spiritual virtue, such as "meekness", transcends individual and organisational purposes, being aspirational for any activities that involve providing services and being accountable.  相似文献

Returns generated with small firm mutual fund data are used to examine the extent to which identification of a small firm effect is due to the difficulty in measuring the direct and indirect transaction costs involved in investing in the common shares of small capitalization stocks. Little if any evidence of the excess risk-adjusted returns is obtained for either of the period 1978–1983, when the small firm effect was observed, or the period 1984–1989, when it was not. The small firm effect may therefore be attributed to (1) higher direct transaction costs including bid-ask spread and broker fees and (2) higher indirect transaction costs including portfolio management expenses and market impact costs.The authors thank an anonymous referee for helpful comments on an earlier version of this paper, and Brett Salazar for valuable assistance in data collection. Ethics training is commonly cited as a primary method for increasing employees ethical decision making and conduct. However, little is known about how the presence of ethics training can enhance other components of an organization's ethical environment such as employees perception of company ethical values. Using a national sample of 313 business professionals employed in the United States, the relationship between ethics training and perceived organizational ethics was explored. The results of the analysis provide significant statistical support for the notion that businesspersons employed in organizations that have formalized ethics training programs have more positive perceptions of their companies ethical context than do individuals employed in organizations that do not. The analysis also indicated that job satisfaction was related to employees attitudes about their ethical context. The managerial implications of the results are outlined, along with the limitations of the study and recommendations for future research.  相似文献
