本文考虑到构成面板数据之横截面时间序列扰动项之间的关联性和异质性,设计出一个简明的蒙特卡洛实验框架以生成面板数据单位根检验统计值之有限样本密度分布和对应临界值。我们设计的蒙特卡洛框架提供了一个简明的可操作平台,可以运用于涉及到面板数据单位根检验的相关实证研究。  相似文献

非线性阈值协整是线性协整的后续发展。本文使用两机制TR模型对Westerlund和Edgerton(2005)的面板数据协整向量结构突变模型进行扩展,提出截距项具有阈值效应、截距项和斜率系数都具有阈值效应的面板数据非线性阈值协整模型。在此基础上,本文进而分别构造Zc、Ztc、Zr、Ztr统计量检验阈值协整,并对上述统计量的极限分布进行了数学推导,发现它们都收敛于随机泛函。仿真实验结果表明,有限样本下上述检验统计量具有较小的水平扭曲和较高的检验势。  相似文献

本文基于Westerlund和Edgerton(2008),考虑了无时间趋势和有时间趋势的面板协整检验。在检验协整时,本文不仅允许误差项存在异方差、序列相关以及截面相关,而且还允许各截面在截距和协整斜率上存在未知时点的多个突变点。蒙特卡洛模拟结果表明,(1)该检验的具有较小的水平扭曲和较高的检验势,(2)将模型拓展到不含有趋势项的情形是必要的。在此基础上,使用基于动态最小二乘估计量的新统计量对国际CO2排放和经济增长关系进行检验,发现在考虑了突变和截面相关的情形下,两者间的长期均衡关系确实存在。  相似文献

本文基于SUR回归将时间序列的两种单位根检验(ADF—GLS检验)推广到面板数据,得到了同期相关面板数据退势单位根检验,称为SUR—ADF—GLS检验。通过蒙特卡洛试验研究发现,SUR—ADF—GLS检验具有良好的小样本性质。并且,SUR—ADF—GLS检验关于面板数据的同期相关性结构存在着较强的“依存性”。  相似文献

本文使用Pesaran(2007)提出的CIPS面板单位根检验和Pedroni面板协整检验,对我国房地产价格是否存在泡沫等问题进行了研究。检验结果表明,房屋销售价格指数和租赁价格指数序列的单整阶数不相等,并且二者不存在协整关系,因此在样本期间内我国房地产价格存在泡沫。在此基础上,本文对我国房地产价格泡沫产生的原因进行了简要分析,并给出相应的政策建议。  相似文献

研究目标:构建对复杂协整关系进行非参数识别时有效、可操作的组合方法。研究方法:综合考虑核估计方法、窗宽选择以及协整检验三类关键因素,提出待分析的多种组合方法,通过蒙特卡洛模拟和中俄两国购买力平价理论在有限样本下对各组合方法的性质进行对比分析。研究发现:“局部线性核估计(LL)+交错验证窗宽选择(CV)+方差比检验”组合方法在识别真实协整关系时扭曲水平(Size)低,ADF检验在识别虚假协整关系时检验功效(Power)高。研究创新:扩展了E-G协整检验步骤,以非参数组合方法的视角提取最优残差序列并对复杂协整关系进行有效验证。研究价值:利用组合方法为复杂协整关系的建模探索出一条可行之路并丰富其应用场景,也为中俄两国进一步推进经贸合作提供了理论依据。  相似文献

针对经济变量的长期均衡和短期调节关系可能同时存在非线性的事实,本文扩展现有阈值协整模型,提出了协整向量、调节参数都为非线性的阈值协整模型,并着重探讨了该模型的检验方法。研究表明,在协整关系的检验中,Wald统计量有较好的有限样本性质。在协整关系的非线性检验中,LMW和LMG统计量的水平扭曲和检验势都较好。在调节参数的非线性检验中,当调节参数具有显著的非线性时,LMH统计量表现出较好的有限样本性质。  相似文献

文章采用2005~2012年长三角经济圈20个城市物流业发展与区域经济增长的面板数据进行实证分析,通过对数据进行平稳性检验和协整检验,证实了物流业发展和经济增长之间存在着长期协整关系。回归分析中Hausman检验拒绝存在随机效应的原假设,采用固定效应模型分析面板数据,发现物流业发展的三个指标,物流产业规模、物流供给规模和物流需求规模均和区域经济增长之间存在正相关关系,不同城市组别的回归分析发现,不同的区域经济发展策略对物流发展和经济增长之间的关系有着不同的影响。  相似文献

居民消费水平与经济增长之间的关系,一直是很多学者研究的焦点,文章利用计量的相关检验方法(E-G两步法、协整检验、Granger因果检验),对1978年至2007年的数据进行了检验,发现:居民消费水平的提高与经济增长之间有着长期的协整关系,且两者的相互作用明显,并根据实证结论提出了相关的政策建议,希望为政策的制定者提供理论依据。  相似文献

To test for the white noise null hypothesis, we study the Cramér-von Mises test statistic that is based on the sample spectral distribution function. Since the critical values of the test statistic are difficult to obtain, we propose a blockwise wild bootstrap procedure to approximate its asymptotic null distribution. Using a Hilbert space approach, we establish the weak convergence of the difference between the sample spectral distribution function and the true spectral distribution function, as well as the consistency of bootstrap approximation under mild assumptions. Finite sample results from a simulation study and an empirical data analysis are also reported.  相似文献

Hollander, Park and Proschan (1986) proposed a test of new is better than used of a specified age. It is based on large sample normality of the test statistic. There is, however, no study in the literature on its actual size for small and moderate sample sizes. To shed some lights on this, the results of a Monte Carlo simulation study as well as two real data examples are reported and these indicate that the test can have a quite liberal size, especially for small to moderate sample sizes. In order to improve on this weakness, a modified test is proposed and studied. It is noticed that this modified test seems to over-correct the original test to an extent that it becomes unduly conservative sometimes. Hence we propose another modification that combines the original test and the modified test turns out to have its size quite close to the nominal level and is therefore preferable to both the original and modified tests.  相似文献

This paper investigates the long-run and short-run linkages between insurance activity and banking credit for G-7 countries. To minimize the pretest bias and overcome the structural changes, we adopt the bootstrap Granger causality test applied to full sample and subsamples with a fixed window size. The Johansen cointegration test with GMM-IV estimator finds a long-run positive relation between the series. The full sample results of bootstrap Granger causality test show that there is predictive power from life insurance activity to banking credit only for France and Japan, while the short-run causal relationships between nonlife insurance activity and banking credit are country-specific. However, parameter stability test results suggest that the short-run results in full sample are unreliable. The results of rolling VAR models report that the causal linkages between them are time-varying across various subsamples. These findings offer some useful insights for achieving the co-evolution between insurance and banking credit markets.  相似文献

Sample autocorrelation coefficients are widely used to test the randomness of a time series. Despite its unsatisfactory performance, the asymptotic normal distribution is often used to approximate the distribution of the sample autocorrelation coefficients. This is mainly due to the lack of an efficient approach in obtaining the exact distribution of sample autocorrelation coefficients. In this paper, we provide an efficient algorithm for evaluating the exact distribution of the sample autocorrelation coefficients. Under the multivariate elliptical distribution assumption, the exact distribution as well as exact moments and joint moments of sample autocorrelation coefficients are presented. In addition, the exact mean and variance of various autocorrelation-based tests are provided. Actual size properties of the Box–Pierce and Ljung–Box tests are investigated, and they are shown to be poor when the number of lags is moderately large relative to the sample size. Using the exact mean and variance of the Box–Pierce test statistic, we propose an adjusted Box–Pierce test that has a far superior size property than the traditional Box–Pierce and Ljung–Box tests.  相似文献

The framework of Geweke (1982. Journal of the American Statistical Association 77, 304–324.) and Hosoya (1991. Probability Theory and Related Fields 88, 429–444.) is adopted to construct a simple test for causality in the frequency domain. This test can also be applied to cointegrated systems. To study the large sample properties of the test, we analyze the power against a sequence of local alternatives. The finite sample properties are investigated by means of Monte Carlo simulations. Our methodology is applied to investigate the predictive content of the yield spread for future output growth. Using quarterly US data we observe reasonable leading indicator properties at frequencies around one year and typical business cycle frequencies.  相似文献

In this paper, we draw on both the consistent specification testing and the predictive ability testing literatures and propose an integrated conditional moment type predictive accuracy test that is similar in spirit to that developed by Bierens (J. Econometr. 20 (1982) 105; Econometrica 58 (1990) 1443) and Bierens and Ploberger (Econometrica 65 (1997) 1129). The test is consistent against generic nonlinear alternatives, and is designed for comparing nested models. One important feature of our approach is that the same loss function is used for in-sample estimation and out-of-sample prediction. In this way, we rule out the possibility that the null model can outperform the nesting generic alternative model. It turns out that the limiting distribution of the ICM type test statistic that we propose is a functional of a Gaussian process with a covariance kernel that reflects both the time series structure of the data as well as the contribution of parameter estimation error. As a consequence, critical values that are data dependent and cannot be directly tabulated. One approach in this case is to obtain critical value upper bounds using the approach of Bierens and Ploberger (Econometrica 65 (1997) 1129). Here, we establish the validity of a conditional p-value method for constructing critical values. The method is similar in spirit to that proposed by Hansen (Econometrica 64 (1996) 413) and Inoue (Econometric Theory 17 (2001) 156), although we additionally account for parameter estimation error. In a series of Monte Carlo experiments, the finite sample properties of three variants of the predictive accuracy test are examined. Our findings suggest that all three variants of the test have good finite sample properties when quadratic loss is specified, even for samples as small as 600 observations. However, non-quadratic loss functions such as linex loss require larger sample sizes (of 1000 observations or more) in order to ensure reasonable finite sample performance.  相似文献

In this article, we study the size distortions of the KPSS test for stationarity when serial correlation is present and samples are small‐ and medium‐sized. It is argued that two distinct sources of the size distortions can be identified. The first source is the finite‐sample distribution of the long‐run variance estimator used in the KPSS test, while the second source of the size distortions is the serial correlation not captured by the long‐run variance estimator because of a too narrow choice of truncation lag parameter. When the relative importance of the two sources is studied, it is found that the size of the KPSS test can be reasonably well controlled if the finite‐sample distribution of the KPSS test statistic, conditional on the time‐series dimension and the truncation lag parameter, is used. Hence, finite‐sample critical values, which can be applied to reduce the size distortions of the KPSS test, are supplied. When the power of the test is studied, it is found that the price paid for the increased size control is a lower raw power against a non‐stationary alternative hypothesis.  相似文献

This paper investigates the cointegration relationship among a group of international stock indices in light of new developments of econometric methods. Kasa (1992) first documented strong evidence for cointegration relations among five national stock indices, which suggests that there exists a common trend among those stock indices. Using Johansen multivariate cointegration test, we find that his findings are persistent in a sample of longer periods and more countries. In order to investigate whether these results are driven by statistical biases related to the sample size, we apply to our tests the Johansen’s small sample correction factor. The results still point toward the existence of a cointegration relationship but the evidence becomes much weaker. We next examine the empirical patterns emerged from different lag specifications and argue that Kasa’s findings are more likely due to the size distortion in extreme long lag VAR models. Indeed, when we employ a newly developed non-parametric test that does not require estimation VAR models, the null hypothesis of no cointegration cannot be rejected for the original sample of Kasa’s five-country stock indices from 1974 to 1990, nor for the extended period from 1970 to 2003.  相似文献

Process precision index Cp has been widely used in the manufacturing industry to provide numerical measures on process potential. Pearn et al. (1998) considered an unbiased estimator of Cp for one single sample. They showed that the unbiased estimator is the UMVUE. They also proposed an efficient test for Cp based on one single sample, and showed that the test is the UMP test. In this paper, we consider an unbiased estimator of Cp for multiple samples. We show that the unbiased estimator is the UMVUE of Cp, which is asymptotically efficient. We also consider an efficient test for Cp, and show that the test is the UMPtest for multiple samples. The practitioners can use the proposed test on theirin-plant applications to obtain reliable decisions.  相似文献

We consider the problem of comparing two diagnostic tests based on a sample of paired test results without true state determinations, in cases where the second test can reasonably be assumed to be at least as specific as the first. For such cases, we provide two informative confidence bounds: A lower one for the prevalence times the sensitivity gain of the second test with respect to the first, and an upper one for the sensitivity of the first test. Neither conditional independence of the two tests nor perfectness of any of them needs to be assumed. An application of the proposed confidence bounds to a sample of 256 pairs of laboratory test results for toxigenic Clostridium difficile provides evidence for a dramatic sensitivity gain through first appropriately culturing C. difficile from stool samples before applying an enzyme-immuno-assay.  相似文献
