CPI eases to 3-month low

Dec. 6 （China Daily） -- China will use about 715 million metric tons of steel in 2014, a jump of 3.2 percent year-on-year, an official predicted on Dec 6. China will import 850 million tons of iron ore in 2014, accounting for more than 70 percent of total demand, said Li Xinchuang, head of the China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute. China imported 669 million tons of iron ore for the first 10 months this year. Li estimated the whole-year iron ore imports will reach 800 million tons, a 7.5 percent increase on last year,

China＇s industrial production growth softens in Nov

Dec.10 （Xinhua） - China for the first time topped rankings for source （filings by China） and destination （filed in China） for four types of intellectual property （IP） filings IP in 2012, according to a report released by World intellectual Property Organization （WIPO） Monday. The report said rapid growth was recorded in the four types of IP claims, namely patents, utility models, trademarks and industrial designs. Carbon tax as an effective tool of energy saving has got increasing attention. Based on the need for energy conservation, according to the level of tax collection and management, drawing on international experience, China should follow the ＂polluter pays＂ principle to determine tax payer on the basis of estimated amount of carbon dioxide emissions, use a fixed carbon tax rate, consider environmental protection and industrial competitiveness protection, rationally design a carbon tax incentives, make full use of the carbon tax in promoting economic, social and environmental sustainable development.

XU XIAKE AND HIS GEOSCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS OF LEADING WORLD

Xu Xiake(1587-1641), styled himself Zhen Zhi, a native of JiangYin (now the Jiang Yin city,Jiangsu province). Currently, China is the ninth largest trading partner of Brunet Darussalam and is expected to become the seventh or eighth within the next two years. At the end of September 2007, Brunet Darussalam has invested in 1,219 projects in China, with the actual investment volume worth US$850 million. ARRAY PATTERNS AND DEFORMAYION MECHANISM OF SHEAR ZONES IN WUDANG AREA,NW HUBEI PROVINCE,CHINA

The Wudang area, as a part of southern Qinling Orogen, has undertaken complicated tectonic deformation and evolution. Shear zone structures play a role of the whole history of tectonic evolution.Unfortunately.however,few shear zones were reported until 1991 (Cheng etc.1991). Even though, there were rarely evidence to deal with their patterns and array, deformation characteristics, environment and the action on the tectonic evolution in this area.The authors' research has made out that shear zones with different style and components of deformation elements in the Wudang terrain reflect deformation times, environment and evolution of tectonic stress fields. They have three types, i, e. ductile, ductile-brittle and brittle shears, and occur in different position, resulted from the different deformation stage of tectonic stretching and collision process between the N. China Plate and S. China Plate, respectively.     

AN ANALYSIS ON HEAVE EFFECT CAUSED BY PRESSURE—GROUTING

Pressure-grouting is a process to inject thick grout through borehole into the soil layer. As a result,around the injecting point will form apertures,which may expand and cause the surrounding earth mass compacted and strong, with the pressure and the grouting volume increased. Meanwhile the ground surface may be forced to heave. Subsiding building can be accurately elevated by pressure-grouting to a desired position if grouting pressure is properly exerted.This technique is widely used to solve the problem of over-subsidence and differential settlement effected by weak foundation strength and deformation in engineering practice.

THE GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ULTRAMAFIC ROCKS IN NORTHERN HEBEI

Uhramafic rock area in Northern Hebei is situated in the northern margin of the North China Platform, along Chongli-Longhua deep major fracture zone which is the boundary of Inner Mongolia Anteclise and Yanshan subsidence Zone.In this region,Archeozoic eonothem darkcolor metamorphic rock(mainly plagio-hornblende gneiss) and ultramafic rock outcrops developed widely; Fractures are very developed;magmatism is very intensive and frequent.Along the deep fracture zone, various types of magmatism of an immense tectonic-magrnetic zone have provided favorable conditions for the mineralization of gold. In 1984,a gold ore deposit was discovered in Xiaozhangjiakou ultramafic massif,Chicheng county and another gold deposit had been discovered in Bulaotun ultramafic massif,Miyun county,in 1990.More and more people realized that ultramafic rocks have an important significance for the gold mineralization and began to pay more attention to the scientific research of ultramafic rocks in Northern Hebei province.
