《中国—东盟自由贸易区服务贸易协议》的签署对我国金融业、网络金融业既是挑战,也是机遇。我国网络金融方面的法规存在较多问题,包括电子签名、电子支付、电子货币的发行与监管以及与国际接轨等,对此我国应完善电子银行管理办法,修改电子签名法及其相关法规,完善小额电子支付系统的法规,制定大额电子支付系统的法规,建立有关电子信用证的法规,以新的票据法规范可流通的电子票据。在此过程中,还必须加强与东盟国家的合作,充分借鉴国际先进经验,最终促进我国网络金融业的发展。     

The Perceived Advantages,Disadvantages and Strategic Responses of International Stockbroking Firms in ASEAN Countries

This paper presents the findings of a questiorznaire survey ofstockbroking firnu in five countries in the Association of SouthEast Asian Nations (ASEAN): Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand,Philippines and Indonesia. The main focus of the study istwofold: first, to investigate the advantages and disadvantages ofthe presence of international stockbroking firms in ASEAN, asperceived by local stockbroking firms; and second, to survey thestrategies of these firms in response to the competition posed byinternational broking firms. We find that local firms believe thatthere are benefits arising front the entry of foreign firms in theregion. Among the more important benefits cited are higherquality research, increase in trading volume and marketliquidity. The most intportarnt strategies of local firms are toimprove their research capability and to provide better stafftraining. This augurs well for the stockbroking industry in theASEAN region.     

China＇s Trade Surplus Hits New High

China＇s automobile production and sales both shot up 25% in the first eight months of the year, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said on September 8. The country produced 4.64 million vehicles between January and August, an increase of 25.37%.     

Demographic development in ASEAN: a comparative overview

A comparative overview of recent demographic developments in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region is presented. Countries discussed include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Separate consideration is given to mortality; fertility; and migration, spatial distribution, and employment. A final section is concerned with emerging issues and directions for population policy.     

Risk spillover of banking across regions: Evidence from the belt and road countries

We present the risk spillover effect of 2178 banks in 63 countries along the Belt and Road from 2006 to 2020 with the VAR-BEKK-GARCH model. We find that Chinese banking has two-way risk contagion with banks in East Asia and Association of Southeast Asian Nations, South Asia, West Asia, and Central Asia. Furthermore, Chinese banking keeps a positive correlation with banks in Thailand, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, and its relationship with Indonesia and Kazakhstan shows seasonal characteristics, whereas with India, there is no obvious spillover effect.
